Got nailed by a pair of ships in a Mammoth while aligning to warp in a 0.5 system. Lost quite a bit of stuff, first time I've been nailed in hi-sec while WTZ. Ah well, it was bound to happen and the losses are replaceable. Suppose I'll have to prioritize Transports soon.
Anyway, I noticed that there was no gloating on the part of the russian gankers. Figured at first they were just being classy - not adding insult to injury - but I realized that they had immediately logged off after my ship exploded. "Thats odd," I thought...
Almost exactly 24 hours after the gank, both characters logged in and sent evemail bragging about their indy kill.
Any explanations for this? Why wait 24 hours?

I guess the player(s) went out and partied for almost exactly 24 hours straight due to having extremely good combat abilities. Then realized they never bragged about the kill, so they went back to their computer(s) and let you know how awesome and mighty they are. __________________________________________________

This.
It would surprise me if CCP haven't thought about the possibility of people logging off in high-sec with a GCC, but you never know...

For my non sarcastic contribution to the thread, this. You can hear some nasty rumors sometimes of this working to evade CONCORD and/or security status penalties. __________________________________________________

If they did that on purpose to avoid concord then you should petition it.
But I heard that concord don't forget the shooting and they will come after you when you relog? Don't know if that's true, i'm not used to shoot people in high-sec. -- I'm lost in space |

Actually, I'm fairly sure that if you log off with aggro, (yes this includes GCC), you'll remain in space until your aggro is up.
AKA, you won't escape CONCORD by logging off after obtaining GCC. |

have you forgot this is EVE we're talking about?
I think that the idea that concord sometimes fail is possible. ---

No, if you log off with a GCC, then your ship remains in space for a minimum of two minutes. If you attack someone, concord will show up there as soon as possible - failing to scramble you then and there, they'll appear wherever you logged off *edit*(or wherever your ship emergency warped to...)*edit*, scramble you (so that an emergency warp isn't possible) and then proceed to dish out 750 resist ignoring dps per BS on your ship.
CONCORD doesn't like having their tea-parties interrupted *cough*.

Maybe not so smart to post this, as people might abuse it... But I know for a fact, (alot of people properly know this) that if you log off, and log in to an alt char who's in the same system, your main char will disapear, as you cant have two ships in space at the same time.
In theory.. have never tried this, if you get global agression by shooting a guy in high sec, but warp to a location very far away (maybe 100 AU) it will take some time to reach the destination, and you should be able to log off, and log in to your alt. Your main ship would properly disapear in warp, while its invulnable, and CONCORD wont kill it.
The 15 minutes agression might not disapear even though you log out and wait an hour, but at downtime most information is reset.
Again, I have never actually tried this, but if someone is brave enough to test it, at the risk of getting banned, you should do it and contact CCP :)

I thought CCP claimed to have fixed this, and it's definitely classed as an exploit if not. I would recommend you petition the gankers, you might not have proof that they used an exploit but it sounds like they could have been, and I'm sure CCP can find out very quickly if they lost their ships to CONCORD or not.

Honestly, if you aggro anyone, you stay in space for the 15 minute GCC countdown, and Concord has the best probers. They will find you and shoot you til you die, yep die.
Gloating about suiciding on someone in high-sec? F A I L, unless it was a response to something you sent them.

At first I thought nothing was wrong, then you said Russians. Well, judging by their odd behavior I wouldn't be surprised if these guys have found a new trick to dodge concord. I'd petition it.
Really now, don't think lesser of me because I'm suspcious of the Russians... in EVE. I just think they're VERY good at finding exploits.

what might be happening is that if they have a second client up and ready to go they could gank, then log in on the same account with a different character which makes them disappear from space. And if done in under 45 seconds they can avoid concord. -------------

We tried the log off and log an alt on once to see if we could avoid the 10 min cyno timer. The guys log out and logged in his alt on the same account but his cyno ship never disappeared until the 10 minutes was up. The alt that he logged on was in the same system to, so he got to see his ship sitting there without him in it.
