The new movie "Wall-E" has a logo strikingly similar to the EVE logo... I first noticed it on one of the ads on TV.
CCP should be carefull with this, disney has a history of moving in on peoples trademarks, then 'legally' stealing them later down the road when a company doesn't defend. :(

I'm hoping CCP has legal rights over the "logo" but it also adds some good publicity, then again I dont think I want more pre-pubecent youths playing this.

This is about the visual logo. And the similarities are striking.

No, he is making a valid point. It sounds odd, but Disney have tried it before - they make a logo, or character or whatever, see they are similar to a pre-existing thing, and then a few years later make a plea that their character/logo/whatever is the more prominent of the two, and therefore copyright should be transferred. CCP wouldn't need to ban them from using that name, they just need to make it formally understood that they have recognised the incident, and are protecting their brand.

This is a common tactic used by many 'big business firms' Disney, Microsoft, and Xerox are some of the bigger names that do this sort of thing rather commonly, but artistic license isnt the only medium, it is also done in the software industry as well.
Hypothetically... If CCP were to ignore this totally, in say 2 to 5 years Disney could decide to make a second installment to the Wall-E series, and call it... "EVE" using the logo, or one like it. In the international patent/trademark business courts a case could be made that CCP did not defend their brand and so Diney now owns the more prominant 'branding' of the copyright... CCP could then be sued by disney for copyright infringement (Even though CCP had it first), forcing CCP to rename their product or worse.
I hope someone at CCP reads this and at least has their legal team take a look.
I believe a simple letter from CCP to Disney acknowledging the infringement upon their copyright would be enough to consider it 'defended'... but like I said, a corporate lawyer should at least take a look at the situation.
Also, Disney is not a company to be taken lightly... like Microsoft, they are sharks that do not play nice, do not play fair, nor do they like 'small fish' in their ponds.
I just want CCP to be careful.

10 year? wth?
Include developement time. However, 10 years seems a bit much, maybe 7 or 8 would be more plausible.
However, the name Eve cannot be copyright, only the design of the logo. E-O shows the word 'ONLINE' below the logo which makes it different enough that companies like Disney can use something similar.
Don't believe me? Take a look at many holiday company logo's, see how many show an island with a palm tree and the sun setting in the background. The images all have their similarities but are different in enough ways to make them unique.

i'd have to agree, the logos are remarkably similar and if CCP doesn't take any action, Disney (or more accurately, its legal team) is more than capable of pulling a stunt like that. So I definately hope that CCPs legal staff will contact Disney in this regard, simply to protect their product.

CCP is a company, Eve is a brand. You could have formed a company 30 years ago but only created the branded item 7 years ago. Therefore the brand logo is only 7 years old however long your company has been trading.

You know, there is another famous character named Eve. She's in a book, I believe it's called Genesis. Yeah, CCP should sue God too.
Let it go people, go see the movie and then log back on and play!!

Im not saying anyone should sue anyone, Im just saying CCP should talk to their legal team to see if this impedes on their trademark at all.
Think more sa***uard, less drama as my goal here.
