I engaged a thorax in my drake and he used weird tactics - he launched jam drones, they attacked me and he immediately scooped them back. Then he repeated and I got jammed. He used this tactics every time when I lock him again - as a result 80% of fight I was jammed...
So, is it valid tactics, or exploit?

It's pretty much the same as the drone shields which got "fixed" some time ago. But since you can counter this tactic with FoF missiles and jam the enemy yourself I wouldn't call it a exploit. Please refrain from moderating on the discussion forums. |

Yea because every ship uses missiles and has FOF.

This was supposed to be fixed a long time ago. File a bug report. Are you sure he was recalling all his drones and not just 1 or 2 of them?
Also if your drones get a jam then you pop them in/out they might retain the positibve jam cycle or retain the negative jam cycle if they missed the jam. I am not sure about that. --

Is it possible he wants to reduce the time for the 'unsuccessful' cycle? If he lets them engage and sees after 1 or 2 secs that you are still locking him, he considers the drones to have failed which means a next attempt from the drones is in 20 secs.
If he scoops, redeploys and attacks, they might try again in 10 secs if you're fast, increasing the total jam time this way. Don't know if this works.

Which would be an exploit. considering you are now getting rid of any time from unsuccessful jams.

I would expect that to be an exploit.
Knowingly circumventing game mechanics for an advantage.
But until CCP class it as an exploit it isn't. /start sig I love old characters that post 'I've beeen playing the game four years' when I know their account has been sold on. /end sig |
