Continuing the series of special chronicles, this time we see what direction the Federation will take in these dark and uncertain times. Two of the three people you'll meet in this chronicle are the Federation's president and his arch-rival. The third, well ... you'll see.

"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he doesn't become one himself" (Nietzsche) seems gets thrown out the door in this chronicle. Very nice overall, very informative both political aspect and Eve Technologies.

I have always disagreed with Neirzsche on this one to a point. Sometimes it takes a monster to kill a monster.
Very good story.

*edited for spelling, oops*
Nietzsche (you got the name wrong) is right, and I do agree with him. But it's also true that sometimes you must become it to kill it.
Dark times are coming to the Federation, and who better of an herald of the Federation's (and ultimately Foiritan's) fist of wrath and vengeance than Foiritan's worst enemy? ---

I'm actually rather impressed with the way things are going for the Federation. It's definitely a step in the right direction. |

Why aren't there anymore postings of the president or the senate at their "corporation"'s respective pages?! Work on that end of the web site ceized in 2005 where I would have thought the news postings are automatically sorted and attributed to corporations or organizational bodies being reported on.
Now, more than ever, information is necessary. Information, which is tied to one or the other side. -----

May we spill terrestrial Caldari blood as freely as we have done in space. We will do as was our right to bastard children in the days of old. Death to the Caldari, Oblivion to the State! #########################

Saying that I'm impressed is an understatement. Very well written. I like the direction the Federation is taking to. I hate to say it...but I may just have the beginnings of a little bit of respect for them. _____________________________________________ Woot, the first time I've been modded...ever.

Edited by: Amoun Ra on 02/07/2008 20:14:10 Great story Abraxas bravo
I especially love how it shows that Souro Foiritan is not the so democratic peace loving person the gallente thought he was. In fact the first thought that popped into my head after reading that chronicle is Souro Foiritan = Tebus Heth.
What do you know maybe the federation is starting to grow some and whether this war ends for the state or the federation the gallente will thank the caldari for showing them how to run a state

I don't think you are correct. The President loves peace. He loves tranquility and democracy, Freedom and the noble spirit of togetherness that lies in the very core of the Federation.
He so loves these ideals, these perfect shining stars of our potential, that the acts of cowards and dogs, the so-called State, may force him to commit unspeakable acts to defend them.
Forgive us, for the things we must do.

This is the worst of all possible rationalizations!
The president is a monster just like everyone else. He makes excuses for his actions. Every man has his own excuse. This president is no different; even if his excuses seem noble to you.

To be fair, he did found out that there are traitors who sold out the federation.
and that the Caldari caused many innocent lives to be lost. people who are not soldiers.
the President tried the peaceful approaches to co-exist (which made fed roleplay boring in the past...)
hell, he tried to be civil with people who started all these...( all these trouble began with the Caldari terrorist destroying that Gallente underwater city on Caldari prime.)
so yeah, what would you do if you are an head of state who fostered peace and diplomacy with another group that repeatedly shown hostility? and that your country just got your arse kicked by the people you tried to work with?
I wouldnt say its noble...war is anything but...
but I can see his reasons for going the route depicted...
After all, the Caldari state (not the people) just bombed a planet (and threatened to bomb gallente prime...*it was part of a news thingy during the downtime...)
the way I see it.
the Caldari state right now is under the control of a egoist genocidal maniac.
and Gallente state need to dirty its hands to.... well, defend its right to exist.
yeah.. the President fits more like an tragic hero....now.. not noble.. but driven to taking the actions he HAS to take to defend the Federation's right to exist.
edit:
btw, deepest respect for Abraxas... this is one of the most powerful chronicles written yet.
