it cab be very hard to tell what new players want when they cannot communicate without run on sentances lacking capitalization punctuation or grammer. like others said it is an extremly difficult read so its hard to take the whole thing seriously not that i take things seriously. so like that this thread has devolved into a string of mockery and nattering.

Argh, EVE is dying? How come no one told me this when I rolled my character couple of months ago? There should have been a warning text somewhere on the login page. Unfair! Waaaaah!

Of course EVE is dying. Simple life cycle; birth -> dying -> death.
On a more serious note I came back from a year long break a month or so ago and am loving seeing the "carebears need more love!" type posts. It's like a whole new forum now.

I disagree. The the server is alive and aware of what is happening. How else do you explain situations where lag/disconnects happen to people at the worst possible times? Simple, the server is alive and likes griefing people.

Very difficult to read.
No, EVE will do quite well. I'll grant you that the old players might leave (I will not), but this sort of "problem" is heard in many games. The blobs will ebb and flow, FW will rise and fall, but EVE will go on for years. I played another MMORPG for 7 years (no, not WoW!), and after every new upgrade things changed - always "for the worse" I might add. People still played and are still playing. I've even been thinking of restarting my account there as well.
EVE is what we make it, but CCP is a business that I assume is in place to make a profit. That profit will be driven by the majority of players.
Much like real life, you may not like where it's going, but it will go where it goes none-the-less. Adapt or die.

well i dont want to say ccp has to do it this way and not the other ways. i say ccp should give us the options to go our ways inside eve without forcing us into anything, player has the control what kind of way he want to go. well the adjustments i ask for are only for one thing, that every way at least is possible to go for. that includes some protection for those who dont fight and gank when they do mining or transport flights in empire, sorry to say that, empire ganking is tolerated griefing of other players and normally should be forbidden. hopefully this is short enough for all with only short attention span to understand :P ccp has to deliver us the gameplay options, but has no control with choice we do, if we want roleplay we do mission running with faction standing gain, if not, we should have the option to deactivate it. null space as its called here in forums should be overworked too, more attractive in different ways, harder to get, fw system in a variation should be used to conquer null space systems and constellations to gain control and to keep control running, fighting against the null space pirates that "live" in lawless space out there. double useful because the bounties of those pirates are filling the pockets of players and alliances have to work constantly to keep the control of their space, some additional advantages that comes with that kind of control is the task ccp will have to invent, not my job. there must be compensation at least when alliances are controlling lesser amount of null space, there is a chance to get eve to the next level, concentrating on the ganking stuff alone is a one way ticket as already said. real discussion about that is welcome, i hope i can find those few postings in the pages of senseless flaming that will follow :P

What CCP definietely should not do, is listening to people who do not make even baseline effort of getting their message across, although they do not forget to sign their posts.

Good news! That is exactly how it works right now. No change needed. Quote: that includes some protection for those who dont fight and gank when they do mining or transport flights in empire
Already exists. Quote: sorry to say that, empire ganking is tolerated griefing of other players and normally should be forbidden.
Wrong in part, uninformed in others. Empire ganking isn't griefing; griefing is already forbidden. Welcome to ≡v≡. Quote: if we want roleplay we do mission running with faction standing gain, if not, we should have the option to deactivate it.
We have the option to adjust that standing both up and down – isn't that enough?

well no its not enough that you have to go and to fly missions for a faction you dont want and wasting yout time with that. its a concept question, ccp could improve it but if they want to is another thing.
and about ganking, no i dont mean the ganking that happens when ppl with valuable cargo use ap and are afk, that yells for punishment ofc, no i mean the ganking that happens in the belts, that hurt much more because you cant insure an exhumer as example, while miner loose everything the ganker looses nothing at all. that at least has to be improved, even when its only that the miner can insure exhumers well enough to get another one after getting ganked. that would improve situation good enough also for miners and then getting ganked in belt dont hurt so badly.

If you don't care about the faction in question, how does it matter what standing you have towards them? Quote: i mean the ganking that happens in the belts, that hurt much more because you cant insure an exhumer as example, while miner loose everything the ganker looses nothing at all.
Actually, in that particular scenario, the ganker does lose quite a bit since exhumers rarely have any worth-while loot. Apart from the insurance payback, such an attack is a lossy deal. Quote: that at least has to be improved, even when its only that the miner can insure exhumers well enough to get another one after getting ganked.
You do realise that such a change would also help the gankers? Introducing advanced insurance for T2 ships would only mean that they can now go after you with far more effective weapons…

well if you do mission running for isk and lp to get stuff out of lp shop, then faction standings are something that can kick you in your ass if you dont want the roleplay stuff. then you have to move to the opposite faction to build up faction standing there that you can move freely without getting attacked by the faction npc and that you still have all options for yourself. and that you have to do the counterwork is waste of time in my eyes and sometimes you cant use the agent you would need because its in lowsec or worse. from my point of view a not must be, give mission runners the choice to activate or deactivate the faction standings and things will be much easier. and btw for players who cant spend much time it would improve things a bit and they can enjoy eve more.

So basically you want the ability to disable the features that you don't like? If you want to pick and choose what rules/features apply to you personally then you picked the wrong time of game. The local stores sell plenty of single player games you can mod/hack all you want.
You take away faction standing and their is absolutely no balance to mission running. It becomes entirely reward and no risk. At least at the moment the (very minor) risk of mission running is that you lose faction standing.

well atm ccp dictates what you can do or not do, and right now ccp wants that you can get your ass ganked if you put your nose out of station with a ship . well and this is a game, games should please customers, and thats the rule for success. and all i say is that we as customers should have the control what we want and how we want it. since when its wrong ? the whole rl is running like that ! those who dont offers what ppl want can close his business, and not all are inexperienced and get things like they are offered and dont look for things they want. and i dont say its impossible to run things like they were, its still possible if you want it so ! the only change will be that you can customize your eve playing that you are happy with it, that dont hurts anyone. the mission running is then more like hiring a player for all day work and not for faction standing impact stuff, for those who decide against faction standing gain. and its not about the rules, only about features, rules will be the same for all, all i ask for are some choices to give into players hands, not more.
