Hi,
Recently started attempting this final room in the mission.
I don't know about everybody else but I have found it incredibly tough, and often have to warp out more than once, something I am not used to doing.
My HAM Tengu cannot take it in one attempt, so far the only way I have managed this in a single attempt is by fitting a Large Cap Booster to my Torp Golem, which requires a fitting mod in the lows to accomodate. And I used up 25 Cap 800 charges, meaning I couldnt really loot or salvage this mission without redocking and coming back. I also find my Javelin Torps are out of range of most of the senties/missile batteries when I arrive in the room, and Torps are a bit rubbish against the OP angels rats anyway.
Do other people have this same problem?
What are your own experiences?
Any tips for completing this in a better way?
Help much appreciated...

The bonus room is downright easy in an HML Tengu.
The EFT dps of HAM's look great on paper, but in practice you sacrifice too much range to be of real benefit.

I assume you have read the comments on the mission in eve-survival.org to see what fits have been suggested for the bonus room?
I agree that it is a toughie and in my T2 armour-tanked Dominix I too have had to warp out and in a few times till I can reduce the incoming damage. |

Yes, I read the Bible on this mission |

Honestly, I don't think I struggled much in my raven. Also, I recall a blaster rokh worked well enough. I vould pop the closer BSes to reduce incoming dps, then work my way out. It may not have beenthe fastest, but it worked with no stress. |

Had not run the bonus room in a long while, helped a friend do it in his Myrm couple days ago and we had no dificulties. I will say though we waited to trigger the bs wave, just to be safe. Kill the turrets first and foremost after that you should be ok tanking the room, my other toons Drake can handle the damage no problem. |

As above, take out turrets first and don't trigger the reinforcement BS wave and you should be OK.

I have run that mission a few times sometimes solo, sometimes with a friend. T2 HML tengu should have little difficulties with this room. Do some kiting to keep dps low if necessary. |

Assuming max gank and no problems applying damage, HAMs require 5 seconds to equalize damage for every second they are out of range. Even this is misleading because HAMs will have more trouble applying damage.
As already stated, just use HMLs. |

I've only done it once, in an Ishtar. Was actually very easy and didn't need to warp out. AE isn't one of my favourites though and I wasn't all that impressed with the payout for doing one more pocket in a long boring mission. I hear voices and they don't like you very much! |

Switch to HMs from HAMs--you need range in that room, plus take out the guns first, this will reduce the high-omni damage to mostly explosive/kinetic. (Do some of the BS fire EM or Thermal missiles, though? Been a while since I've done that one.)
But yeah, range and speed to keep it are key in that one, or it will hurt a lot. In irae, veritas. |

stick an AB and HMLs on your tengu. then all you need to do if hit the AB, hit orbit @ 80km on a random structure and pretty much go afk. |

I have no problems solo in a HML tengu. I don't even have an AB fitted, some may say I am overtanked with a large SB, but hey still have six launchers and am cap stable.. and never have had to run. I don't not watch spawns.. that's for cookie cutter pilots |

You really need to take out the guns and missile batteries first. After that the mission is easy to tank. |

I normally run a Tengu in AE, including the bonus room. The key with a Tengu, always, is to not get webbed. Thus, when I land in the bonus room, I run at an angle away from the hoard, and make the webbing frigates my primary. After that, I just circle something. Ditto all the previous commends about using heavy missiles. |

I would like to see some good Tengu fits for AE bonus room. The following is my Tengu fit I've tried so far. It has of course no trouble with room 1 to 5 but the bonus room is quite tough and I sometimes have to warp out. Even when I don't have to warp out, I can hardly say it's easy (shield goes down to 20% or something lol. Much much easier and faster with my CNR). I don't want to change my rigs but any other changes to it wont be a problem.
This is what I do in bonus room : I warp in, kill 2 webbing/scramming frigates, pop 3 cruise sentries, start shooting at sentry IIIs and by the time I popped 2-3 sentry IIIs, I usually have to decide if I'm going to warp out or not.

seriously? the only thing you need to know is that heavy thermal damage is added in the bonus room, and the thermal missile bays are prime target to reduce damage, i did this in a maelstrom, far from being good skilled and didnt have to warp out at any time |

I have done the bonus room several times solo with my HML tengu without any problems.
As you warp in, start flying away from the rats to gain some head start. With an AB you can easily get away from the towers range very quickly. Fit normal heavy missiles, kill the frigates and snipe from over 80km away anything which can web you first, and than its a piece of cake.
I'm running a similar fit as the poster above me, except I'm using a gist c-type medium shield booster and a simple omni tank (not mission specific).
HAM forces you go get closer to your pray, which means the more incoming damage. |

I didn't know that you can fly out of towers range. I tried orbiting something at warp in, flying straight up/down but I didn't seem to be able to sig/speed tank those towers turrets at all. Thank you Lemok, next time I'll try simply flying away from them :)

There would be no reason to fly out of the towers range. They will hit you from ass far away anyway. Don't use HAMS unless you are up for a bit of a challenge and even then if your tank/skills aren't high enough you couldn't tank the damage anyway.
Warp in, Kill Towers and then the rest. You may need to kite while you do this depending on your skills. I personally can sit there at take it all out with out any issue but I understand some people skills may not be up to that.

My tactic is rather similar to what's already been stated:
Using a HML Tengu, on warp-in just AB off away from the centre of the room, and blast the frigates GÇö they are your largest threat since they can kill the one thing that keeps you alive: your speed. Once they are down, start orbiting the site at whatever range you are and take apart the sentry turrets. With those two gone, there is nothing left in the room that can hurt you and you can just shoot everything at your leisure. The only thing to look out for is that you don't run face-first into some asteroid or structure, since that lets whatever is left on the field catch up to you and hurt you.
In my experience, with the frigates and sentries gone, I can pretty much turn off my shield booster and just make sure I press F1 every now and then. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

If there's any frigates, take them out first to eliminate the tackle threat.
Or if you're using a ship with drones whip em out and assign instantly. Then prio the Tower III's and Cruise Missile batteries.
Once those are down mop up the rest of the towers then the Cartel fleet.

Use an HML Tengu, T2 Invulnerability Field X2, head away from the pack with AB on, and kill the frigates that target paint you, as well as anything that can web you, use regular Trauma heavy missiles as they hit frigates better then the furys - Next orbit one of the wrecks so that you are close enough to the NPC ships to not waste ammo, and kill all the ships in the room - ignore the towers, they waste ammo, and time killing them, besides not giving much bounty, or loot.
A full run including the bonus room should take about an hour.

I did it again last night, may just be radom but none of the frigates scrammed my Drake. I just sat there at the warp in killed the towers then my friends Nightmare showed up and we pretty pillaged the room. As stated above not sure really worth it just an extra hop to go through but at least the extra DPS made that room fly quicker. |

Did it a lot of times in a passive-shield Hurricane. Did it several times in a passive-shield Cynabal. Pretty easy room.
Try "Smash The Supplier" if you want a really good test :) hint: doable w/out warpouts in a Mael/Mach/Tengu/Drake/Vargur... Never publish your kills/losses, it's nothing more than a useful information for your enemies.

Smash the Supplier is laughably easy though, in a Tachyon NM or Paladin - just kite away and open fire at 70 km or so :) |
