Ok first, yes, The Arazu.
YES, the Arazu.
How's this for some sort of vague "If I know I'm safe and wont get jumped myself, I can be evil and sneak up on people" setup. Possibly to be combined with a Rapier friend and/or covertops/probing ship.
Highs: 250mm Railgun IIs with Caldari Navy Iridium (gives me 43 optimal, 15km Falloff) Heavy Missile Launcher II with CN Thunderbolt (I looked at HAMs but it doesn't have the range and the DPS difference on one missile launcher is not worth it. Covert Ops Cloak
Mids: Remote Sensor Damp II x 3 with Targetting Range Script Warp Disruptor II x 2 10mn MicroWarpdrive II
Lows: Capcitor Power Relay II x2 MAgnetic Field Stabalizer II x2
Drones: 3x Hammerhead II 2x Hobgoblin II (40m3 dronebay? lol?)
Rigs: Hubrid Collision Accelerator I x2 (10% damage mod)
Does 234 DPS.
Ok, I know what you're thinking. It's an Arazu. Yes it is, but the DPS is on par with that of a Rapier and people use those. Rapiers are good for catching fast ships; This one only needs to keep at 30-40km range and most ships wont be able to get a lock on it
It also can't perma run the MWD but pulsing it and fiddling about with the turrets, I can keep the distance, I think.
Sure, it's not going to break the tank of a Drake (what recon will?) but if I pick my targets carefully, I think it could be quite fun.
It's not going to get anyone at a gate - they'd make it back before I popped them. That leaves belt ratters and mission runners, realistically. For the mission runners I'd need a friend to scan them down.
How about this: Get in the mission, cloaked. Wait til they're busy - decloak, (hope they have sound off) and with my 140km range, fire on all the spawns simultaneously, and cloak before the NPCs get a lock. They then go after the mission runner, he tries to warp out but, oh wait, there's something 45km away that's damping him and webbing him.
HOPEFULLY he can't target me back (what mission runner fits a sensor booster, normally?) and with 3 remote sensor damp IIs with range scripts, he'll lose most of his NPC locks - along with some a bit of EM damage I think this could work. As he pops, I cloak (so the NPCs dont get ME) then I just meander towards his wreck.
Thoughts?
P.S. Yes. An Arazu. Get over it :D --
