The Interstellar Correspondents proudly present:
A new statistics service for the residents of EVE:
http://fwstats.eve-ic.net/ This service will automatically update soon after downtime, giving you the latest information available about the progress of the wars currently taking place between factions. From raw, searchable, pilot statistics to corporation information, rankings and historical graphs, the IC FW Statistics System will provide the data to you in an easy to understand format, straight to your web browser û whether in game or out of game.
ThatÆs right, we support and will continue to support the In-Game Browser, meaning that you can have access to the information that we provide without having to leave the EVE universe.
None of this would be possible without the time and skill of ISD Amaari Yolkia, who has put a considerable amount of effort into designing and developing this system and for this he deserves special mention.
We value your feedback and are always looking for ways to continue to develop this system to provide you with even more useful information. Please do feel free to post comments, questions or suggestions in this thread or, alternatively, you can contact us by email.
Enjoy!

Not bad, in general.
However, the individual pilot stats, for one, are borked. It seems to be going off final blows that attribute a killmail to one person, rather than their participation in the fights.
Keep improving it.

pure win.
Love the W3C icons on the homepage too.
How are the kill #s generated? Just "Laid the Final Blow" killmails?
again, pure win. If I could donate money to this I would, it's that good. Care to share any technical details?

The statistics are generated using the data provided by the new factional warfare APIs. Shortly after downtime I have a script that collects, and processes the new data from the API and stores it in a database. This database is then used to generate new charts, and the static HTML pages you see.
Just a brief comment about the way the pilot and corporation statistics are collected: I rely on the information contained within FW APIs that lists the top 100 pilots/corps for kills and victory points in the previous day. So it is possible if you have not made the top 100 for either kills or victory points since the API has been available you may not be able to find yourself using the search facility.
I cannot say either way if kills are only counted when you lay the final blow, but it is possible that this was a design choice given that the overall faction total statistics would not ôadd upö otherwise.

I'm afraid not - the API does not currently provide us with enough information to produce these statistics.

Thanks for spotting these!
I'm a very firm believer in producing standards-based websites and XHTML 1.0 Strict compliance was a design requirement to ensure that the site looks just as intended in every major browser.

Thank you for the support!
I think it's worth mentioning that we're volunteers who write news. This kind of project is outside of our normal scope of work and those involved have gone above and beyond the call of duty to an incredible degree to produce this system. Our original statistics were just a one-off to show how the wars had been progressing; it was never intended to produce automatic statistics until Amaari decided to lose his last ounce of sanity and give up most of his free time to this project, for which we all owe him much bree!
Finally, we've been made aware of an issue that can cause stats on the Pilot & Corporation Statistics and the Pilot & Corporation Search tabs to be inaccurate. We're looking into this as a matter of urgency and will implement a fix as soon as possible.

I think you "Crusaders" are doing ok all things being considered. You're the smallest faction, going head to head with the (now) 2nd largest faction (Minmatar), yet I think you're doing better than anyone could expect. Yes the Minmatar are rolling over you in some areas, but you are over achieving in some aspects and can take pride in that.
Hell, at least you aren't in the Caldari Militia :). They are (and always have been) the largest faction going against the (now) 3rd largest faction (Gallente), yet they trail in total kills and have only a slight edge in total VP and daily VP.
The Caldari outnumber the Gallente by about the same factor as the Minmatar outnumber you Amarrians , yet have just utterly failed to bulldoze over us like they by all rights should have (only having taken 1 system from a smaller opponent, vs the minnie's gain of 5 systems against a smaller opponent), and that's bad no matter how you look at it. By now they should have pounded us so hard that they should be going after the Minmatar, but it ain't happened.
But I digress :) . Amarr isn't doing to bad all things considered.....

Very well done, good work.
Could I make one tiny suggestion/request though? Would it be possible to have an option to display the graphs as bar charts rather than smoothed line graphs? Just a personal preference :p

Looks like I'm almost done doing the stats then, huh?
Although I do see 3 things missing - Total Pilots, Total Kills, Total Victory Points.
I know the pilots in each militia is listed in the graph, but a number with Totals would be nice to add there. Total kills is purely e-peen, but so is everything else, hehe. Add a graph, will ya? And Total VP could just be added as a number in the All Time Averages box...
Do this and then I approve of this thread

Wouldn't say that, getting VPs is not a big problem. Getting them in the right places, that's the problem. Remember those systems the Minmatar took? It's not like you have taken them back, despite getting more VP/Pilot than the Minmatar

I think most people missed the little bit of information that CCP changed the requirements to make systems vulnerable - it's more difficult now. Don't think we will see many systems change hand at all unless they tweak it again. It's just too easy to decontest in comparison to contesting.
(which is in fact also the reason why Minmatar suddenly stalled at 8 :P)
And on topic: marvellous, marvellous site. I love it :D

Edited by: Lubomir Penev on 11/07/2008 12:58:53 I have the feeling it does only count amarr on minmatar and caldari on gallente action.
This week I (in Gallente militia) hunted Amarr scum, got final blow on some yet I am not on the site.
Or maybe only account for the action in the specific faction warfare constellations, but then they are as dead if I catch them elsewhere -- Coming to you, Assault Ships fix, by the people saying that the Gallente Recons are fine. |

As only Caldari Militia shows up as hostile to me, despite Amarr also being the enemy for me and my Minmatar allies, I am pretty sure it only counts AvM and CvG kills. It does not matter where in the whole universe of EVE you kill a pilot of the enemy militia, it will register as a kill. This is why even in Highsec, a militia enemy is a valid target. Just like with a normal wardec...
Now, with that said and the appraisal of the new site done, I am left wondering. Exactly WHEN do these stats update? "Soon after downtime" seems a bit odd, especially since it is almost 2 hours since the servers came back up, it has not been updated yet and the stats are not matching those available ingame. So I am not quite sure what to make of it...

Amarr militia definitely show at hostile for me. Problem actually is more that there is no way to have the Minmatar militia show friendly. Looks like an issue with your overview settings. -- Coming to you, Assault Ships fix, by the people saying that the Gallente Recons are fine. |

In other news, can someone explain to me why there is a major difference between these stats and the Militia Window reports? It makes it really hard to tell which is more accurate, as both is SUPPOSED to get updated during downtime with the SAME number...

Don't know where to get the IP adress for the site, as the URL won't work to traceroute with (if it does I don't know how to do it).
If I had the IP I'd get right on it
