Fascinating.
My ping times from the West Coast is averaging 55ms right now....
Maybe you should talk to your service provider.
PS- Server upgrades won't effect ping times.

If traceroutes don't mean a thing, then maybe you shouldn't make claims about 1.5s pings…

TBFH, the problem wouldn't be localized to American players if it were a server load issue.

What ^^^^ he ^^^^ said! I connect from the Mid-western U.S. and I have never had a ping of over 120ms. Well, except when the overseas backbone connection was acting up anyway. Even when the server is showing better then 32,000 people on I never get much in the way of lag. That is in system with as many as 200 players in them. Have to agree, has to be the service provider.

Its not CCPs fault your getting a bad ping. I'm in the Asia right now, on a crap wireless modem and my ping is around 100ms. Whenever it spikes up its not ccps fault. Its my ISPs fault. Change your provider, get off dialup, and/or stop downloading and maxing out your bandwidth while playing eve. |

so your lying about the 1500ms ping then? because ping and server side lag are two totally different things if you have have a 1500ms ping and are lagging it has nothing to do with the eve servers. do us all a favour buy yourself a brain b4 you post in future.

I'm just going to reuse my post from the other lag-whine thread here:
I'm so terribly sorry CCP haven't yet managed to develop super-luminal (faster than light) communication yet, or invested their money in dedicated cable connections direct from the server to each and every one of their customers. I am also terribly sorry that CCP have chosen to keep their 100 Terahertz Quantum CPU technology a secret and not use it in their game servers, and that they sent those zombies round to your house to eat your brains... wait.. no... that might have been me actually. Damn... I told them to go and find CCP Mitnal, but they must have mistaken you for him. Oh well, I'll be sure to send you some compensation in the form of high-value ammunition in game However, now you are just reading my signature... Or are you...

It's in milliseconds. 1000 = 1 second. So it takes 1/5th of a second for your message to arrive and return. It's a bit slow, but nothing EVE can't shrug off.

double click somewhere to have your frigate move and it will take 1.5 seconds for it to respond and start to manuever. 1.5 seconds before the warp bubble ends you can click on the cloak button and the ship will cloak after you come out of warp. that's lag! try it! see for yourselves!
who cares about the technicals of this argument? it translates to a 1500 ms ping and their servers are to blame.

People care about the technical details because you use a technical term. If you want to discuss ping, then let's do so. What you're talking about isn't it, though…

Originally by: ARGH69 double click somewhere to have your frigate move and it will take 1.5 seconds for it to respond and start to manuever. 1.5 seconds before the warp bubble ends you can click on the cloak button and the ship will cloak after you come out of warp. that's lag! try it! see for yourselves!

No, "it translates to a 1500 ms ping and their servers are to blame." is wrong. There is no direct connection between you and their servers. You have yet to give real proof CCP's servers are to be blamed. And no, saying "other ppl from xxx were lagging as me" or "other ppl were playing just fine from xxx" does not constitute proof. _______________________________________________ The ShadowMaster -

I'm getting a little lag also, although it was worse an hour ago. I was getting 10-15 second delays on drone commands and activating railguns at one point, but that was the worst of it. Most of the time, the guns were just activating one second apart. It's cleared up a lot now.
I finished The Blockade level 3 without having to turn on the armor reppers, so it was weird but manageable.

listen you fanboys (yes, even you, the ones too chicken to post with your main) & fangirls! if you play a tight game like me, where every milisecond count's because you are flying a paper thin spacecraft and rely on lock times, cloaking and de-cloaking or even nano manuevers, a constant 1.5 second delay for every command can be lethal.
if you carebears simply do the f1-f8 gameplay in your marshmallow gate camps with your beefy battlecruisers & battleships then you just don't understand how to play this game.
