Since CCP nerf our recons like hell, i wan t to ask you something about Curse. Looks like those days is nano Curse only option to fly...so it has cap problem. So, which ships do u think curse can attack it in 0.0 and would be 99% win. I know it depends on knowledge of pilot but still... i think only t1 (not passive drake)+haulers and thats it tbh. Fell free to post as much useful info about it.

You can take alot more than those with a nano curse due to the range on the nos / neuts.
2 med nos, 2 med nuets.
depends if you need more "sustainability" or want to cap kill quickly.
Now, granted, this was on SISI, but I was able to go up against 5 battlecruisers, 2 hac's, a cruiser, and 2 command ships (At the BC and lower FFA).
However, I was fit normally, as I would have been on TQ. Such is the power of nano***gotry

Troll? If not, the curse is still a killer recon. Can cap out BS in a minute or so, while avoiding all damage and ruining turret tracking. ________

Curse target checklist:
Does the target primarily use turrets? Does the target need cap for a decent tank? Is the target a nanoship?
If the answer to those questions is 'yes' then you can engage with a better than good chance of winning.
Conversely, the following targets will be difficult:
Missile ships (You're in real trouble unless you went insane and fitted a permarunning nano setup) Ships with LOTS AND LOTS of drones - they'll shoot your drones down and then start hurting you Completely passive tanked ships - you won't break the tank Ships with lots of cap boosters are difficult to suck dry without running into trouble yourself
But if you're looking for something that can kill nanoships, interceptors, rapiers/huginns and (eventually) turret heavy battleships then you could do FAR worse than the Curse.

Looks at her 5 neut capital eraser and wonders how 2 neuts would fare against a carrier.

Why would I try to solo a carrier? Doesn't really matter tbh, when you're in a fleet, and if the 10 battleships each fit a heavy energy neut (1 med neut on max skilled recon = 1 heavy neut on a battleship).
Right tools for the right job.. a curse isn't the right tool to insta-solo-cap kill a capital ship (use a bhaalgorn?)

A Curse can kill just about anything. Seriously. It's why I never fly it solo anymore, because noone with a clue ever picks a fight.

Pretty much this, because if you do happen to get in trouble( most of the time against other nano ships)you just neut enough of them and run.
Sad really, nano curses make me wish we were back in the days where people put dual reps on..

Because this doesn't work. Cap them out and your speed dies and pretty much everything can afford to exchange buffers with a curse.
Also, LOL, at the non launcher curse setups. Just try and kill anything past a tech I cruiser that has 5 small or 5 medium drones and a cap injector who knows what he's doing. All he has to do is deploy his drones on yours and the instant you recall drones, he recalls his. Yours have a ~20km travel time. That totally stalemates your dps.
Doing the same dmg as a blaster ranis with a totally destructible dmg source doesn't get you kills versus competent players. Self Destruct & LogOffs |

Yes and no. You want the Battleships repping each other not neuting the carrier if there is only 10 of them. Fit the 5 neuts on the Curse and then mwd 2xInjectors 2xLSE (for the random fighter hits) lows and rigs a mixture of nano and cpr/ccc. Basically a Curse is better in that role than a Bhaalgorn because it burns less own cap for burned enemy cap.
This in a simple 10 BSs and a Curse attack on a carrier / dread would suffice easily ... The curse can warp out and come back if necessary ... once or twice x 60 seconds sucking is more than enough to enable the BSs to take the cap down quickly. Or if you havent fit for cap killingjust holler for one more standard fit curse and you have the same result...
Killing capital ships with a fleet is easy tbh... lets go back to the real topic which was solo killing in a Curse. THAT is the hard job.
Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

A curse can kill any sub-capital ship that does not passive shield tank and use missles (Drake and Nighthawk) with unimaginably good odds. . .its arguably the best recon for solo combat in the game atm and probably one of the best cruiser class ships. ----

If you're planning to use a Curse for cap warfare against capital ships, you really don't want to rely on cap boosters. Go with passive regeneration (batteries etc.).

people fear the curse more than any other recon
cap stability isnt an issue when all you need to do is pulse your mwd, not perma run it your target will not beable to hit you (if you get a good transverse on it) and eventually will be sucked dry for no tank
a drake is probably a good target cause of its active hardners for a passive tank __________ -_- |

Yep, no one wants to get close to a Curse (solo) because they are plain evil. I thought CCP nerfed the Curse, what the hell! Why are more people flying them then ever.

The curse is a fantastic solo ship according to everyone I've ever discussed it with.
Which ships can it take on solo? ...the list of ships it can't take on is probably a whole lot shorter...

I disagree, its a ship that controls cap so any ship that actually uses cap(even the huggin and rapier)cant combat it.
Its also a great speed tank with good versatility in the mids.

edit: the setup i mentioned is actually incorrect, its 1x LSE II, and 1x sensor booster II w/ scan res script.
i dont like loosing the buffer. You ever tried dropping a speed mod for one of those low slot sensor booster thingys whoes name i can never remmber. Ive got a cloaking curse which i fit with one of them for black ops fun
edit: also good call on the named MWD i hadnt noticed the difference in cap use.

well, thats up to the player's skills really. The one ship I probably wouldn't mess with is a NOS / Neut Domi though. Some Ravens and Golem can be horrible to fight against if they're using Precisions.
Really, all in all, its chanced based. Assume that every engagement, the victim has 50 people in the next system waiting for you to attack.
