Acer released its new eeePC like netbook. They are quite cheap and I am thinking of getting one. The questions of course is
Does it run EVE?
Most certainly it won't do so at acceptable FPS, but merely being able to change skill training and MAYBE toy with the market will be sufficient.
The Aspire one sports (lol) -Intel Atom 1.6 GHz -1GB Ram (not all versions, but the one I am looking at) -Intel GMA 950 Graphics -Linpus Linux Lite OS -1024 x 600, 262.000 colors dispay
Any info is appreciated. If you have tried it and it works, please tell me, you'll be my hero!

Hm, thanks for the info. That one has a very competative pricetag! I would probably consider, but I'm waiting for a better MacBook Pro. I'm considering the Aspire One Netbook as a briding solution since my old laptop just broke.

I tried to play eve on a 3ghz desktop pc with gma 950 graphics card. It was completely unplayable.
The future is black. Brace for impact! |

Hello, I've got the same setup. With everyone on low it is ok. I wouldn't do pvp or pve. However while I was away on holidays I had my Aspire One and it was very useful for doing everything else. Moving stock, changing skills, answering eve mail, etc. A gun with style, substance and humour. |

Well, pvp I wouldn't do ether, but some ratting was no problemo so far. Hell I have The Lord of The Rings Online running on my Acer Aspire One (all graphic settings to lowest) and it plays really nice...... |

Hi,
I've played Eve by months in an dv1000 HP notebook which has an intel gma900 as graphic chip (older than 950). It was a very nice playing time but never engaged in an huge pvp battle in the while. But did everything else. Since adm tasks (skills, market, transport, ...) up to lvl 3 missioning and a bit pvp.
It's not exact same because dv1000 has better overall performance I think than current avaible mini-notes in general.
But playing with classic graphic content and tryed to disable some graphics features (not all of them).
I don't know why people had troubles with this graphic board. may be they tryed to push graphics quality to a max or used to play in huge battles.
I'm plannig to buy a asus eeepc 1000h and have same curiosity than you. would like to play eve in it. if someone have already did it please post a note in forum.
