Same issue as everyone else. Randomly booted to login screen and it seems to happen at the worst times. Started playing EvE again about 3 days ago after about a 2 month hiatus, but never had an issue before. I would suspect it started happening after last patch. In Aus here. |

Have done the same and it works great, no discos at all while using Battleping. The thing is, after the trial I'm kind of stuck because I really don't want to pay for something else to make EvE work correctly. Maybe only $5 a month but meh, it's all about the principle of the matter. If CCP rectified/looked into it in the past, why can't they respond now and let us know their working on it? Anything is better than nothing imo. 6 days til Battleping trial runs out.

Tracert and Pingplotter will be posted soon. I knew I held off thanking CCP for fixing this for a reason We really need it sorted and I really don't believe it happens to people just in AU. |

Nothing to do with multi boxing, I don't run multiple clients. I have in the past but never had this issue anyway. When I play EVE sometimes I have TS going or and external browser, these remain fine when EVE discos. And TS or the external browser is not the culprit because I get these dicos regardless. Had 3 this morning, one within the first hour and then 2 within the the next 30mins.
Actually discussing things with iiNet as I'm typing this. Hopefully something is worked out. |

It would make more sense if the entity with the vested interest (i.e. CCP making money, or losing it in this case) approach the company in question. Judging by the complete lack of engagement of CCP in this thread*, I assume it is not affecting enough people for them to care. I find this particularly galling as my problems started after CCP Mort said he tweaked routing on page 3 of this thread, and then seemingly walked away from the issue. Removing subs is the only language gaming companies seem to understand. * Just a "we are working on it" would be helpful.

Although I am doubting it's iiNet, because there are others who aren't on iiNet that are having issues as well, most of our pings and pingplotters tell us different. Anyway... 5 discos last night after DT, withiin a span of a few hours. How is this acceptable to CCP? Come on guys can we please rectify the issue? They told us to post pings and pingplotter, and this was for... seems like much of nothing. I'm sure there are others in EVE having the issue but not everyone will post, we are just the just vocal few. |

Organic Wormfood wrote:Update...
Had an idea...
I setup my Android mobile phone with the WiFi access point and am now playing EVE over my mobile phone (Telstra as well).
Pings have gone from about 290 (Telstra Internet) to 350 (Telstra mobile).
BUT... my dropouts have now stopped with EVE.
I can't traceroute when running on the mobile phone.. i get no IP returned for all 15 hops to 87.237.38.200.
Personally... I think there is an issue with the connection from reach.com to ccp.cc. Some router in there is randomly dropping connections for brief periods.
There are a number of Australian users (and international as well) who are getting pushed through that router.
The only way I can see the recent patches of EVE as being the cause is if they have decreased the amount of time the EVE Client can recover if the 'connection lost' errors start coming through.
It may have been an issue all along but the clients could recover...
CCP.. have you changed parameters around how the EVE client can stay 'logged in' if it thinks the connection to the back end servers is dropped?
CCP... please get onto your ISP and get them to start monitoring the connections from reach.com into their premesis.. I'm pretty sure there is an issue there.
CCP... thanks.
Funny you mention Reach.com because I have recieved an email from the Tech I spoke to at iiNet. Waiting another reply but this is well outside ISP's responsibility. Email follows:
"I remember speaking to you today, it was quite a pleasure! As mentioned beforehand, I am a fellow gamer myself and completely understand the frustration in continuous drop outs.
The very first indication that it could be the server is when you mentioned the game itself loses connection, yet all your other internet applications were working fine. I know that in itself seems like too simple of an explanation, which is why I am happy to look into this issue for you.
In this trace route, you have indeed noticed the one which it jumps to a more significant latency, but what I'm primarily concerned about is hop 8. That is the first hop in which the latency spikes. I'm sure you have already noticed, but after the 6th hop it is no longer our network, in which unfortunately I'm unable to assist you with any sort of network investigation. However, I personally have looked into what the cause of this spike could be and am getting continuous opinions from fellow peers.
Out of curiosity, I (somewhat shamefully, might I add) Googled that particular IP (202.84.141.146) and found some forums in which they were talking about it in particular.
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1127012 (Not sure why I couldn't access this page but not the one you sent me, anyway. The exact same IP seems to be having those issues.)
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/4427566267?page=1 (Once again, same issue but on WoW. Almost the exact same dates in which EVE started having problems. Here is the fault in association with this: http://www.iinet.net.au/status/fault.php?id=1964630)
From looking at when these were posted, the problem has been going on for quite a few weeks now. Surprisingly though, Starcraft runs off the same network (Reach Networks) and has not been having the same problems as of late. My best guess would be the root of this problem for yourself and many other players which have replicated the issue lies in hop 6. This would be going through our upstream provider in which we have sadly no control over. At most, I can have someone in our faults team have a look into it.
I won't give up yet though, I'll let you know of what else I can find!
Kind regards,
R K"

Ok, received another email from this kind person at iiNet. One hard working tech let me tell you, so cast aside that iiNet has crap customer support
Email follows:
"Hi,
I have been looking after your issue the past couple of days and forwarded the information to our Network Operations team here. They advised me it is definitely outside of our network and there is unfortunately nothing we are able to do on our end.
Level 3 communications INC own that IP, it is the firewall of EVE and manages load balancing for EVE servers. This is completely due to the provider EVE is using. This is the company here: http://whois.arin.net/rest/nets;q=204.245.39.42?showDetails=true&showARIN=false&ext=netref2
A few other major games such as SWTOR and WoW are still having this issue. The private company running this IP is a bit shaky, and I can chase this up further but thereGÇÖs nothing more I can do from here other than provide you with updates in regards to the matter.
I really hope the issue is resolved soon for your own sake and your friends.
Please feel free to use this email if you have any similar problems in the future and IGÇÖll be happy to look into it for you. It will be active for as long as I am working here.
Good luck and take care.
Kind regards, RK"

This was the same response I got from a petition I sent to CCP when this first started happening to me. I took upon myself to first get tracer routes and pingplotters together. Second tweeting CCP higher ups with help from others. Third I called iiNet and luckily got a tech that followed up and actually helped. Now whether it was iiNet's end and they're not telling me this(tend to doubt it), it has been fixed. I have had no issues for the past week or so. I do know that my route has changed since my first tracer route. I'm not saying everyone's issue is fixed, that's obvious. I will start tweeting CCP again and make them aware that this issue for some hasn't been resolved. |
