Hi, trying to do this mission in a destroyer seems to be impossible :( as soon as i jump into cartel base, im surrounded and just beaten to a pulp in less than a minute, tried upping sheilds resistance for explosive damage, tried tactic of full throttle away from npcs and missile them, still doesnt work , what am i doing wrong? if i fail this, my agents going to sack me and my standings ruined.

Okeh, having done Worlds Collide solo MULTIPLE times in a destroyer as a Caldari, if you're having trouble in the second room it's understandable, that's a good place to get swarmed.
Having done BOTH groups in a Comorant, I can make the following suggestions:
1) Fit both long-range and short-range guns, if you can. My Cormorant was fitted with 4 rails and 2 blasters, and did it handily. No missile launcher.
2) Know your ammo types, and use them. Carry some of your race's high-damage ammo into the second room, what matters there is raw DPS and tracking. Long-range - not so much, Remember to switch back when you're done.
3) Do you shield-tank or armor-tank? If shield-tank (Caldari), fit a booster/extender/cap recharger and a Invulnerability Field. If armor, then fit a repper/EANM, and possibly a cap booster depending on your mids. Webber won't help you in the second room - while you web one frigate and kill it, 6 others are hitting you. You need them dead, fast.
4) If you kite, a GOOD named AB will help you a bit. Cold-Gas 1 is the best named AB for destroyers.
5) Be prepared to warp out during the second room. Once armor is half-gone, warp to a station. You have about 2 RL HOURS to finish the mission, so there's plenty of time to repair and head back. If you have armor reppers installed, you can even do this for free while parked outside the station, then warp back in once your cap recharges.
6) After you finish the mission the first time, GET YOUR SKILLS UP. I'd recommend Targeting III, Weapon Upgrades IV, Energy Management IV, Engineering IV, Electronics IV, Mechanic IV. The latter 3 you really want at 5, but that takes a LONG time (209 RL days with reasonable learning skills), so they can wait a bit. The weapon-related skills for your choice of weaps you want up to at least IV asap, too.
Anywhy, there's some advice for you - hope it helps.

When I had low skill, I just trained 1MN Afterburner and rushed through the first rooms and killed only the agro'd rats in the last room. Take a frig and fit speed mods (Overdrive Injector I) if you are shield tanking.

That works too, though God help you if you get stuck trying to use the second gate (there's a LARGE asteroid near it that'll prevent warp if you're at just the wrong place).
Me, I just tanked in my Cormorant and got all that juicy Angels salvage - it's one of the more lucrative missions for me (the Angel side anyway, not so much the Guristas side :))

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated , i`m using a Minmatar destroyer , i`ve lost the bonus but have plenty of time to complete the mission, looks like it will take a few warps in and out!

I found the level4 version of this mission easier than the level 1 even without blitzing the mission. The reason is that level 1 restricts you to small ships-level4 use anything.
The secret I found is a Dominix armed with Warden2. I got within 75K of all the ships & killed the first ships on warp in without the domi drawing the slightest amount of anger. The wardens even took out the small cruisers & frigs at extreme range often in one volley. The battleships took a couple of minutes each but not really that long to kill them all.
It was the same tactic with the other gates & the mission objective again I took out the agro with wardens so I got no agro then started working on the none agro ships. The only time the frigs attacked my wardens was when they were assigned as wingmen to the battleships-just pulled my wardens in -rinsed & repeated.
This is the first time I have done the level4 version of this mission because it does not seem to be given by my agent in Kakakela-I went to Aufay-got the mission & it was shockingly easy for a Domi with Warden2

And this.
The level 4 version is much easier than the level 1, which is probably the hardest low-level mission there is.

I honestly did not find the level 1 mission hard but only has I had a full tec2 tank on the incursus & I would expect a new person would find the mission difficult. I was only trying to recount my experience with these 2 missions at the respective levels. I am very mindful that I got the level1 of this mission when I had 10 million plus skillpoints.

HI,
No offense but...
LOOSER~!!!!!
I did worlds collide last night in a T1 frigate with three missiles lanucher I, a Ballistic missile control I, sensor booster, shield recharger I and a few other things - No MWD or Afterburners.
Firts room - there are two gates - choose the one with less bad guys. 9 there are four of them. Sit aorund 15-19 KM's and missile them one at a time (you fly AWAY from them obviously so they have less chance to hit). Then use that gate.
Takes you directly to gate #2. use it immeidately - dont try to hit them. At Gate #3 you look around and can see the can guarded by three Bad guys. Use the same tactics as the first gate and you'll get three more that warp into rangfe. Take them out, get the cargo, loot the wrecks (heck I salvaged them too) and warp back to station.
You wont get the MAX isk as you didnt kill the bad guys but you finish the mission and get the reward and standing increase.
Next time I'll take my chances at more Bad guys in room three...
But it is SO Doable in a T1 frigate - dont even think about a Destroyer....

Jason Brisbane

I stopped reading there as that is the most fail advice you could ever offer. Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

Actually, it isn't bad. Some npc's, like drones/angels, orbit you at under 2km, where you are better off with short range guns because they are tracking better and have better dps then long range weapons. For the Cormorant as example, fit 5x 125mm and 2x blasters.

I did it a dozen or so times in a Kestrel before I got a level 2 agent.
I had to train to fit 2 x Micro Aux Power in low but once I had that and some shield skills I could fit a medium shield extender and all missile launchers with bloodclaw / flameburst.
I did lose a Kessie once but that was on the fourth or fifth one when I got a bit over-confident and sloppy.

For MISSIONING, it works, and works well. Having now done that mission in all 4 race's destroyers, it helps to be able to peck long-range while taking out the frigate that's orbiting you. Remember, only the Gallente destroyer can fit a drone, and only one of them. Things like a Thrasher or Cormorant don't have the speed to get away from a orbiting frig, and with no drone you're helpless without at least 1 short-range gun.
Now, I'd never fit that for PvP, we're not talking PvP here.

I remember doing the Guristas side in a Merlin fitted with Rails and Missile Launchers, they got to 40% shield at most, the shield resistances really help out. ------------------------ Ore Depletion Calculator It's life Jim, but not as we know it |

Condor. Speed-tank / bypass the first room(s), slowly kill the couple of frigates you NEED to in the last room, pick up the cargo, go home. Done in 5 minutes.

Oh the irony. Someone stating that someone is a loser actually misspells it as LOOSER!!!!. I did chuckle and felt slightly irritated as I see this spelling far too often.

What I did was outfit my rifter with nanofiber internal structures and an overdrive injector.
I got the skills up to rank II each, and was able to outfit the tech 2 versions fine.
Max speed with the rifter: Over 1km/second.
In the end, I fly in, turn on the cold-gas arcjet + civilian shield booster, and just fly towards the nearest gate. I can make it to the gate, before the rats even get to me.
Second room, again, fly to nearest gate with the cold-gas arcjet, and the civilian shield booster on, warp out. This can be done before significan damage is taken.
Final room, there's only a handful of rats here. set yourself to orbit at 500km's, and *pew* *pew* *pew* boom, get the item and warp out.
Probably the fastest and easiest way to manage this mission.

I did this a few weeks ago with another character I have.
The thing to remember is DONT FORGET THAT SINGLE DRONE!
I ended up popping out the one Hobgoblin I had in the bay and that took out a good number while I ran round and round just out of range.
Helped a great deal. Character does have reasonable drone skills though.
