So I'm plotting a marathon tonight in front of the computer. I need snack Ideas. I don't often eat snacks, and I'm hesitant to spend money on some that are terrible.

I usually get the same snacks every weekend...
Lays Stax chips - BBQ and Sour Cream & Onion flavors. Starburst Jelly Beans - Sometimes substituted with Gummy Bears or Skittles. Cheeze-Its
Pretty much it. Drinks are usually just Milk, OJ, Sunny D or Water for me. I find that having salty snacks and fruit flavored snacks is the way to go. Options! EvE is not about PvP.-á EvE is about the SANDBOX! - CCP!-á Open the door!!! |

I haven't had Jelly Beans in forever. That may be an option.
I used to like cheese-its, and under certain circumstances I do love them dearly; the resulting cheese-paste that begins to form in your teeth's recesses does irk me. |

Cheese and Crackers.
Go and get a couple small cheese blocks and cut them up. A box of decent crackers or Ritz if you prefer the butter crackers.
If you pop em in whole you get no crumbs.
Grab a beer and you are set.
Total cost maybe 10ish dollars depending on your cheese types. |

I'm on the other end of the spectrum -- woefully skinny despite my extremely poor eating habits.
But I do see the Large Collidable Objects in my area quite often. I usually remove them from my overview. |

I like your style. One question, You can put a whole ritz with cheese on it in your mouth?
I go for cashews and Pepsi or Coke.

Not a snack person myself but I like to load up on Dr. Pepper whilst keeping the bucket in the area as well for the long engagements.
For cheap snacks I would also say cheese its. For me personally it would have to be jerky. If the cat gets within stapler range I do have a good recipe that involves turning the trashcan into a bbq and getting the seasoning by shaking the keyboard. |

Trail mix.
I usually make my own with m&ms and various nuts and dried fruits I can get from from the bulk food bins at the grocery. Eat enough of that, and you won't be skinny anymore.
And Beef Jerky too, if cost is not an issue.

Have some dip or salt with it of your preference (like for use with chips), or just plain. |

As a caution... do not get crackers and soda. They are a fantastic snack combo (Cheese-Itz and Coke <3) but form what is essentially organic CEMENT in your body and the constipation that results from a night spent snacking on them is not something I would wish on anyone.
Coke wins for drinks because it doesn't go flat quickly. RC cola and Pepsi, root beers, fruit flavored sodas... all go flat in what seems like half the time as a coke. If you want something other than coke, get cans.
For snacks and non-crumblyishness that would be chocolate-coated, still salty to go with soda, and bite size. Thinking chocolate covered mini pretzels. Get them from a pretzel company and they'll probably be saltier and cheaper than from a candy company.
Also going to second the recommendation for spicy rice crackers. Around here I can't buy them in a regular store and need to go to like a dollar store or a gas station mart, but they are excellent desk snacks as long as your hands stay dry.
I don't usually like to mix sugar with soda, just an overload to me, but if I did I would go for twizzlers and cherry coke. *Charges Twilight fans with Ka-bar* -Surfin's PlunderBunny LIIIIIIIIIIINNEEEEE PIIIEEEECCCCEEE!!!!!!! -Taedrin Using relativity to irrational numbers is smart -rodyas I no longer believe we landed on the moon. -Atticus Fynch

I've rocked the cherry coke and twizzlers before. While it's amazing while you're eating them, the resulting gastrointestinal disapproval renders enjoyment moot.
Keep up the good comments, guys. We've got one of the most helpful threads now.

Grapes, peanuts, rasins, jerky, tiny carrots, pop tarts, twinkies and all that sort of little debbie crap. Can get a big bag of frozen fries, bake em for 30-40 mins at 450.
For the drink, tea. Drop a few ice tea bags in a pitcher and fill with water. Even with cold water and ice it only takes about 30 mins to "brew". I don't add sugar to it, nasty. |

I hadn't thought about KFC. It sounds delicious, but a bit on the greasy side. No, no, fried chicken requires two hands. Leaving zero hands for operating a keyboard or a mouse. All the dangers of being afk, but worse because you get to watch yourself asplode while you're trying to figure out what to do with that greasy half-eaten chicken breast. Only one-handed snacks should be considered. |
