OK guys, well we all no about scams, lotteries, poker sites and all the rest in EVE - but its interesting as someone trying to set up a new lottery just how little trust there is in the game!
ATM i am trying to run a new high payout lottery (see links:
http://eoga-lottery.info/index.php
http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=823354
but i keep coming up with probs of trust. Ultimatly it boils down to 2 points: 1) how to gain trust in such a venture without using an escrow 2) how to distribute infomation in the game without spamming millions of poor people who probably have better things to do!
Why is it so hard in eve for an honest man to try and do something posative that will benefits others and perhaps create a bit of fun in game?
Does anyone have any thoughts on how trust can be earned by a new toon in EVE, and the best way of spreading infomation around the eve community without getting up peoples backs?
ANY THOUGHTS GUYS???

Because, sadly, in EVE an "honest man" is often defined as "someone who hasn't scammed yet".
You might want to start with a smaller buy-in, smaller pay-out lottery and work your way up. Trust is generally best gained in small amounts. Otherwise, you're probably looking at trying to enlist a trusted third-party.

You need to earn a trustworthy reputation, this takes time and effort and....time.
You'll need to work your way up from handling small transactions, doing things others don't want to do for next to no profit. You also need to find a niche, lotteries are covered.
It could take years before your stature grows to such an extent that youÆre trusted to handle billions of isk.
Then of course you do what most pod pilots in your position do, pocket it, reveal your scam on eve-o and submit an app to join the GHSC.

You sort of answered your own question.
I personally trust no one. Not even my fellow corp members, not even my 'friends'. Nope sorry no trust whatsoever.

well 3% of 100 would be 3 mil, which is about 10 mins work in game for me. On the otherhand, processing 100 lottery tickets takes about 30-45 mins of my time. Do the math, there are better ways of making isk, this is for a bit of fun and the start of a project for in game gambling in EVE.
