That does not compute....
Try Hoegarten with a little fresh lemon... a really nice beer and not bitter at all... there are so many types of beer to suits everyones taste... also try Magners over ice if its available.. an Irish Cider that is very pleasant esp on a hot day

People have different tastes. I'm not much of a drinker but a friend of mine claims he loved the taste of beer the first time he tasted it. He's a bit of a lush though. :) Personally I don't like beer unless its so cold I can't really taste it. For taste I usually go for hard lemonades, fruity stuff like that. For pure drunkeness I usually just drink some a vodka/rum/etc mixed with something. It's usually a cheaper means-to-an-end.

Just in case there is some confusion with our foreign friends -- 'Beer' is a non carbonated, usually dark coloured, bitter tasting alcoholic drink. Beer is also known as 'bitter' as in "i'll have a pint of bitter" or Ale "i'll have a real ale please mein host *hiccup*" or Stout as in "give us a guiness". The great thing about beer is that, unlike its 'lager' conterpart (lager is carbonated, usually amber coloured - like aussie Fosters, Carlsburgs, Buds and is served cold) is that it sits in your stomach and keeps on pushing out the alcaholic content. Carbonated cold beers makes you want to visit the loo all night long. The best way to get wasted is to visit a real ale festival and try all those available. 'Real' Ales tend to have stupid names so you can chuckle with your bearded, adanoid sounding, nerdy friends, listen to folk music and pretend you are in touch with Olde Worlde England. The best bitter in the world is Brains SA (means 'Strong Ale' but is nicknamed Skull Attack). 5 pints of SA and you wont know what happened that night and isnt that a peculier rash around your genitals? I know there will be some who disagree about Brains SA but I dont care. Its the best there is, bar none!

It's the safest means to get wasted. The hard stuff makes me want to sort things out, one way or another. Wine makes me want to make out or sleep, depending on color.
Beer just makes me want to sit around being drunk and enjoy my shrinking surroundings till it's just me in my bubble.

I love the flavor of beer (good beer, bitters and ales, none of that larger trash, can't drink that), and also alcohol in general.
Love to have some absinthe every so often if I'm have a sweet tooth, else, maybe a bombardier satanic mills, awesome rich chocolate flavored bitter.

I re-educate you all thusly:
Near my house is a brewery. It is called Adnams. It makes a beer called 'Broadside' see: BeerUrl
Its just brilliant and IMHO the best beer I have ever had. And I've had quite a lot of beer.

My experience has been the opposite, but that's the problem with generalisations I guess. Post not in form of x proportional to y, pyramid over. I liked that first comeback BTW, that was good. -

For me I got started drinking beer due to simple economics: When I turned 19 my dad started buying my beer, so I didn't complain and drank that. Lately I've been trying other brands, and Asahi is some good stuff, especially in the 640ml bottles. Normally at home I drink Vodka, but I'm out and haven't bothered to hit the liquor store yet.
As for coffee, I started out drinking triple triple, then double double then finally black because I couldn't be bothered to keep adding sugar, and there was never cream at home, milk does do it. Thought I still drink my Tims double double. -------------------------------------------------- Everyone is born right handed, only the great over come it.

I gave up on most other types of booze years ago, but every night after I'm done with work I drink a couple of pints (usually Hefeweizen Weissbier) while I play a game of something and smoke a big fat joint. Few things in life are better than that. Delicious and love the buzz.

hmm interesting, they let it ferment and then they let it go flat?
hmmm, and looking at guinness all the glasses seem to have some head, which indicates carbonation
