Sorry if this has been answered, it's quite late and everything is a little out of focus.
The "Top Sov Changes", does that mean a system sov gains (ie. it was neutral sov and it switched to someone else) or sov upgraded (ie. from Sov1 to Sov2)? |

Really nice work!
I've been playing eve a long time with 2d EVEMaps Ombey as my guide. In it's self it is a really nice overview of eve (applause to Ombey maps), but it isn't very dynamic compared to this.
I like the use of the public content / web services CCP provides. It makes the whole website come alive! The IGB is really wonderful, I also tried the mini-maps from Eve-maps but I found this to be much to small for my taste.
The dynamic nature of the site provides a user friendly environment, point and click. It is also very nice to see the information about the systems and services at the lower right of each page, not to mention the layout, it is so much better structured! The filters at the top of the page give a lot of additional insight a bout the region you are viewing. Just click at a system and you got some need statistics. The side bars in the Home tab provide good info about the most violent systems and sovereignty changes.
The alliance statistics are awesome, never knew there was so much info about available just through the public content.
SindÆs you are already using Eve gate information data are you planning to integrate a jump planer of sorts and is there any chance that you are going to combine this service with the user API information in a similar fashion as eve-commander does?
Keep it up, 100 mil send to your wallet.

Hi Wollari,
thx for that awesome Tool we get from you.
But i have a little request to you: "Dont know if it possible, but can you try to add a Frame with Numbers (top / bottom) and letters (left / right) to the Map like Ombey did on his Maps? This could help to navigate faster over the Map, when you talk to others via Audio. This Request is not only for the PDF Special Maps.

UPDATE
Due to the great feedback i recently added several new features and pages.
Moon Mining Database: I added a moon database to the evemaps webpage. Those database covers the moon mineral distribution. The region overview page shows you the moon mineral distribution along with which system covers which kind of moons plus a complete summary for the region itself. On the system details page you can now find a list of all moons including their raw materials.
This database is not part of CCP's static database export and completely based on user reports. There's no guarantee that minerals are correct or even complete.
The first inital input of moon minerals is taken from moon surveys i could find on eve-files.com. That contains some lowsec systems (from the Moon Map Project) and Moon Scans from the 0.0 regions Deklein, Fountain and Querious.
If you want to improve the moon mining database, please contact me ingame. I'll find a way to import your lists into my database.
Here are some nice screenshots from the moon mining lists:
Moons per regions
Moons per system
Recently Gained/Lossed Systems Another idea came from a comment in my last blog. To monitor the big wars between GBC vs NC/Goon it would be cool to see the last lost and gained systems from an alliance in the last weeks. Here we go.
Recently lost systems (last 3 weeks) (Goonswarm)
The get a better overview (especially for the larger alliances) i moved the alliance information's into 3 tabs. Outposts/Systems, Member Corporations and Recent Changes.
Grid on PDF Maps In the eve-online forum, Teclador asked if i could add a grid to the PDF maps, for easier reading and coordination on voice comms. I hope the new layout is fine for you.
Grid on PDF Maps
New Player Outposts Additional to the last 5 new outposts on the sidebar, I've added a page on request that shows the last 30 outposts with more detailed informations.

Originally by: Teclador I have still one Question, can you please explain whats happens with the different "Security Classes" for Minerals? I see something like F, F1..F7, or G, G1..G7, whats the differ ens Between F and G or all the others?
Those Classes have been used to initially distribute the minerals over New Eden. Group F contains Minerals A,B,C. Group G likely A,B,D ... depending on the region, etc ... But it's not accurate, because ccp has changed some minerals some time ago. The number is just like the security level. With Higher Security Class Systems, you can expect better minerals. |

It's update time.
Extended History
Stins was so nice to send me a copy of his older sovereignty database dumps. With those dumps i could extend my history (starting now from April 2008) to scroll back in the system, corp, alliance and map history. Just some alliance tickers from closed/disbanded alliances and corporations are missing.
Example: Operation Tortuga (Daisho, MC, Kia, Outbreak VS BoB in Period Basis)
IE/Flash Support
I've implementing Flash Support for the Internet Explorer users who dont have the Adobe SVG Plugin installed. Internet Explorer Users now will see the flash version of a map with nearly all features. Only the information overlay is missing (where you can select info like npc kills, etc). All other Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, etc, expect IE Version) should display the SVG version of the map.
I hope the small minority of IE users will be happy now :-)
Cooperation with EVSCO shared killmail database
You can now see the recent ship/pod kills of a system in the last 48 hours directly on the statistical page of each system. The kills will get loaded live via Ajax, processed and displayed if anything got found. I think thats s a good start and a great pleasure to work with those guys.

A region value map based on high-value moons and asteroid belts in each system would be cool. Maybe like a colored background based on the asteroids and a star for systems with rarity-64 moons.
See my marked up map by Ombey for an example: http://dl.eve-files.com/media/0709/365794365.gif
(ignore the sovereignty stuff its ooold)

Just wanted to say I use this all the time (both the online interface and the pdf maps) and it's fantastic. Thanks for this awesome mapping resource.
Is there any chance the various alliances could be assigned consistent colors? When scrubbing through the historical data to look at sov changes over time, the color changes from day to day make it quite a bit harder to follow.

It's fixed. Somehow i couldn't fetch the XML file for conquerable stations. This ended in an empty outpostlist file and removed the ownerships for all outposts. I fixed the database and updated the script.
Originally by: Zzelle Is there any chance the various alliances could be assigned consistent colors?
I was already thinking about this, but it could be a problem with the number of colors that are available. On the Maps i can only use light colors, so that you're always able to read the system name, sov holder, etc. This reduce the numbers of available colors in the first step. With currently 100+ sov holding alliances it would end with a very high number of color assignments. You'll find alliances that're using the same or at least a very similar color.
Currently i'm 18 colors which will be assigned to a regional map. Perhabs i can increase the number of colors while still keep to chose colors where you can see the difference and/or try an other assignment rule, or perhabs a saved color value in the database.

really awesome work and it is getting better by the minute! Is there a chance we could get a map of sov changes per region? there is a list of sov changes per region but i would love a map of it as well. Now you can only click on one system at a time to see where in the region it is. a map that has all changed systems highlighted would be really nice.

Originally by: Wollari or try an other assignment rule
I'm now preloading and reassigning colors to the sovereignty holding alliances per map. The assignment will affect all alliances that had at any point of my history database sovereignty in one or more systems of that map, ordered by the first date an alliance hadsov.
The currently defined 18 colors will get mapped to all alliances that occurred in the history. If the 18 colors have been assigned, the colors will get reused. It might happen that particular maps alliances may have the same color. This is mostly in Regions where many alliances are living together andsovereignty is switching very often (like Querious).
On the other side this will make sure that an alliance should have the same color on that map, if your rollback in time.

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/blog/2009/02/25/monthly-region-changes/
Until now i had a small header over each region listing that show the current sovereignty changes of this day for this region. I found the todayÆs changes listing are completely useless, because everybody is using the normal sovereignty changes sub page. With the newly added feature that you can rollback the time for your region maps, I found out that it would make sense that you get a list of the monthly changes for you favorite home region. ThatÆs the easiest way to get ah fast view on everything which happened after you came back from a vacation or a break.
Example: Sovereignty Changes in February 2009: Delve

First of all, awesome maps!
For the svg maps, is it possible to get larger versions? The PDF files are great but i am interested in the NPC kills, Ship/pod kills and jumps. The small font is killing me so having a larger version (that doesn't screw up the font to geometry ratio) that can cover 1280x1024 and possible 1920x1200 resolutions would be the most awesome thing! Of course all elements need to scale with the new resolution. Yes, i have bad eyes but i can still read without glasses. But that text is just too small.
Thanks again for your great work!
My opinions belong to me, you can't have them!

I'll see what i can do with the larger svg maps.
Anyway: Thanks again to BoB and Goons for their nice contribution to the Moon Mining Database: With the lists from the old BoB Directors Board i could updated several hundred (mostly) highend moons.
I also added a regional moon distribution listing. I know many 0.0 regions are missing, but the database is growing every week.

Is there a way to link information about the Alliances for example when you click on the alliance name. It can be to some other website or a wiki information website. Sometimes its hard to keep track of all the changes and who is who for example. "It is always who are these guys and where did they come from?

They're on the region maps. You just should use the right one.
PDF: On the PDF Maps you'll find the Sec Status for sure SVG: For SVG Maps (with Firefox, Opera and Safari) you've a dropdown menu where you can select the kind of overlay information you wanna see. Sec-Status, Sov, Range, Constellation, Kills, Jumps, etc.
It won't work with the Internet Explorer and with the SWF/Flash Maps.
Try to use Firefox instead and you'll find much more usefull stuff on the maps.

The last days and weeks I was working on a closed and secured section for the DOTLAN EveMaps. After seeing this image from Goonswarm how they keep track of reinforced posses during the Delve War II I thought: I could do this also with more information, map integration, etc.
Blog: The DOTLAN (POS) Intel Manager
- Import and maintain POS locations
- Track POS States (online, anchored, reinforced)
- Keep track of reinforce timers in multiple timezones
- Report POS fittings (including module states)
- Set priorities
- DED mail import
- Maintain standings
- Region/System POS counting
- The Intel Manager is completely multi-project/multi-user ready
- User management for the project admin
- Different Security Roles: Write, Read, ReinforcedOnly (The last one only gives access to the list of reinforced POS towers)
- Fully integrated in the Region/System/Alliance Listings and integrated into the DOTLAN EveMaps
This complete system does not use any API Keys, etc. just user input. I choose not to use any API keys because API keys can only pull your own private alliance/corp information and basically this ôintel managerö is dedicated to keep track of hostile pos locations / pos counting rather then keep track of your home industrial backyard.
I'm planing to make this valuable tool as a rent-able service.
Here are some screenshots what you can expect:
