I'm sure it used to be 4.5 billion if you bought it in the 'correct' region and 4.95 if you bought it in another races region but I've just looked and they all seem to be 4.95 even in the correct region.
Is this the price it's always been or is my imagination playing tricks on me?

This 0.65% increase in the cost of getting into a Titan will ruin EvE tbqfh

What's your problem? It was a serious question. Have the skill prices changed or not?
And trying to be funny but failing on basic maths. Love it.

The price increase is 450 million, he claimed this to be 0.65% of the cost of getting into a Titan. This implies that the cost to get into a Titan is 69.23 billion, which is a fairly good estimate of what your alliance will spend on it - the latest auction I've seen on Sell Orders is for 65 billion, which does not include fitting the ship appropriately, but does include some markup. It all depends on how you count the costs of a Titan of course, but it's certainly not unreasonable. He was a jerk about his response, yes, but he made a valid point. ------------------ Fix the forums! |

I wouldn't quite call that being a jerk.

NPC skill prices drop if no-one buys them, minimum for Titan is 4.5 billion. Big patches reset the skill prices to their default. Default for a Titan seems to be 5.0 billion. If you wait a few weeks/months, it'll be back down to 4.5.

Wrong. BEFORE Trinity, the Titan skillbook base price was 5.0 bil ISK, going down 10% to 4.5 bil ISK if nobody bought any for a long time. AFTER Trinity, the base price was increased to 5.5 bil ISK, going down 10% to 4.95 bil ISK if nobody bought any for a long time.

Does anybody really care how much the skill book costs-450m on a 65 billion investment is peanuts. The price of the skillbook is the least of anybodies worries if they are thinking of going the Titan route.

Absolutely right. Thank goodness I bought my titan skill books pre trinity. Saved me 1.8 bil isk. I'm not 100% sure but the price increase might just be in trinity patch notes.
EDIT: found it in the trinity patch notes under 'Exploits or exploitable changes' 'skills'it says: "The cost of the 4 Titan skill books has been increased to 5.5bn."

Apologies. ~70B for a Titan + 4.5B for the skillbook has now become 70B + 4.95B
74.95/75.4 = .9940, so it's actually only a 0.60% increase: EvE will not die after all.
I will endeavour to be more accurate in future.
