That seems tobe the bottom line atm.
If you really wanted to balance nanos wouldnt it be easier to just put a cap on how fast certain ship classes can go?
Failing that, polycarbs need nerfing so they are brought into line with other rigs. Something needs to be done about snake sets as at the moment they make a very big difference.
I had an idea about mwds. Couldnt you just keep the speed boost amounts for mwds the same as they are on tranq but link an agility penalty to them? So in effect the bigger the speed boost from an mwd the worse the agility is?

Two quick thoughts after being on sisi tonight.
1. Im not liking the mwd reactivating delay thing. Being able to burst the mwd was very usefull in solo/small gang pvp.
2. The webber nerf is s**t tbh. The minnie recons have been hit pretty hard by that. If the nerf goes ahead then i second the idea put forward in another thread about giving minnie recons a bonus to webber strenght.
3. The scram idea of shutting off the oponents mwd is an intresting one. It has potential but so far im undecided on it. From what ive seen on sisi it does seem to make the arazu stupidly good at tackling. Being able to point and turn off the mwd from range while staying out of harms way seems abit overpowered tbh

The logical step would be to nerf polycarbs, implants and boosters, and if that isnt enough even gangboosters. But the SiSi implementation is just a senseless nuking of everything related to speed.
ding ding ding, we have a winner
I have to say the shear size and scope of the changes is evidence to how clueless the author of the changes is.
Quoted for truth, this is precisely the issue
Requoted coz its the best suggestion so far

Yes, in solo battleships. It will be only slightly more difficult in battlecruisers, and easier in cruisers/HACs/etc, because just one MWD overheated pulse (which you get) brings you to back to the gate, with the new 60% webs.
I see things like low-sec gatecamps only less effective then now vs smaller ships (and more effective vs BS). I think it's quite alright.
Gate camps will be more common and alot more effective after the patch tbh. Anything cruiser size and above (except recons) wont stand a chance unless they get lucky or can tank the damage to make it back to the gate. Sure a frig *could* possibly make it back to the gate if it bursts its mwd and isnt bumped/webbed/scramed.

Nano doesn't die in this change, its alive and well, just 'evolved'.
Intys - obsolete Vaga - obsolete Hyena - obsolete Interdictor - obsolete Rapier - obsolete
Yep, really sounds like nanos and speed tanking arent dead.
Nanos and speed tanking are a viable option in eve and should remain so. The changes on sisi really dont make this viable anymore.

Yeah, it is so hard to fly nano ships and so easy to counter them.
That is why nano ships have dominated Eve for the past year or so and are about to be nerfed into the ground.
The blob dominates eve buddy it always has. Nano is just a nice alternative for ppl who wanna rely on skill instead of numbers and allows ppl to roam in reasonably effective ships as they cannot swap to suit needs like ppl on their home turf.
Quoting because the what the pandemic guy is saying is right. The point he is making is something that seems to be lost on the majority of people posting in favour of the sisi changes

The speed-nerf is too heavy-handed. It's too extreme, but that fact gets lost in all the crap. All the balancing threads seem to end up in trolling and counter-trolling. Useful feedback gets buried in noise. Instead of there being a general message that the speed-nerf needs to be less extreme, there are slanging matches.
While i agree that the speed nerf is too heavy handed and very poorly implemented, i disagree about your comments on peoples behavouir - especailly from those against the nerf.
From what i've seen the vast majority of posts on the matter echo our own feelings. The problems have been arising from mainly caldari fw types who cant post anything other than lies, bs and 'mwaaa adapt or die'. And that sort of attitude is bound to get a response on these forums, especially since it appears that ccp are willing to listen to that crap the pro-nerfers are spewing while staying quiet on genuine issues being raised.

I honestly think the web nerfing idea, along with the web/scram alteration is not helping things out. Think about gang warfare, you have specific ships for specific roles, this would make ships like the rapier less effective and also the deimos since it needs to keep its target pinned, but doesnt have the slots/cap to run a mwd, turrets and a point on it, [in gangs where there's a tackler, i drop the point and put a cap injector].
Completely agree tbh. Im not a fan of the proposed scram changes. Scramblers where meant as a counter to warp core stabs and since they where nerfed there hasnt been as much reason to use scramblers. So changing them so that they turn off the mwd and put 2 points on a target isnt balanced. If ccp want a module that turns off mwds they should either make it a seperate module or better still, limit it to afs only. |

Gotta love this weak ass crap from supporters of this absurd nerf.
Pro nerf = 4 years ago blah blah dribble.
Anti nerf = As we speak on the test server the FACTS are ...ect ect.
Yeah i've been enjoying people using the so called 'golden age' of pvp from 3/4 years ago to support the current nano nerf. Im really liking those rose tinted glasses. Or the way they happy forget that nanos was possible then but people chose not to fit ships for speed because there wasnt bubbles or dictors or jump bridges and warp core stabs were all the rage, ecm was on most ships and low sec gates was camped by insta popping sniper bs. Unfortunately ccp has added content to the game since then that has changed the pvp landscape...
