I love nanoboats <3
I invested alotta skills and isk in them =[ Here's the Pre nerf/Post nerf stats:
For the vaga and sleip i got a LG snake set and no particular faction mods. For the sleip i also got about 4.5 mill sp invested in Leadership, a Rapid Deployment Warfare Link and a skirmish warfare mindlink. (LG snakes are about 1 billion of the money spent on the ship)
Pre nerf:
1.7 billion nanosleip = 6,4 km/sec 9,3 overloaded 1.3 billion nanovaga = 9 km/sec 13 overloaded
1 billion crusader with full HG Snakes+All5/Mindlink Claymore = 55,1 km/sec overloaded
Post nerf:
1.7 billion nanosleip = 2.5 km/sec 3.5 overloaded 1.3 billion nanovaga = 3.9 km/sec 5.6 overloaded
1 billion crusader with full HG Snakes+All5/Mindlink Claymore = 12.4 km/sec overloaded
Imo.. nerf is too big

No it isn't. 55 km/s is WAY to much. 12km/s is still way to much, not matter if you spent 1 isk or 1 gazillion billion isk.

I spent two bil on my Nighthawk, so I should always be able to kill your Sleipnir no matter what.
See what I did there?
Isk spent is no argument, unless you compare the ship to it's exact copy with either cheaper or more expensive modules. In that case you could reasonably argue that 'since I spent more, I should get more'.
Other than Isk-value you don't seem to have given any argument supporting your opinion. Thank you, please come again.

Uh that is just totally rediculous. you cant do anything in a crusader going at that speed anyway. all it does is alow you to never die hence why joo being nerfed.
you just posted why they are swatting you with a fly swatter bro.

Even with the agrument of cost, eve is an open market, thus what is broken goes up in price very fast so at no point do I think saying since I spent more, I should get more is true.
Hell I saw an idiot with a raven sporting a gist large booster and he still only tanked 500 dps with no damage mods rofl!
If spending more was getting more then titans with nothing but chelms cap mods would be unbeatable!
LOL at the irony of that!

If you get killed in a 2 bill nighthawk by a nanoship then you clearly have too many isk.
Being fast has nothing to do with being able to kill stuff, being fast allows you to get out easier. You have to speed down to do any actual damage and guess what..? Then you can do damage back!!! Shocker!

Btw as we all know a titan will die a 100man blob any day...
But a 53k/sec intercptr can evade 200man .. above that because of lag it will also die :P

And agreed.. 55km/sec + boosters may be too fast but nerfing it for 450% of its speed is a bit excessive...

you unforgivable idiot you obviously don't understand so don't talk!
I'm about to describe what titans used to be like, hence the irony...
A titan with immunity to all EW and a cap recharge time of under 20 seconds cannot be killed so long as it has a cyno somewhere. It jumps into system doomday, kills that 100 man fleet and then before capitals have a lock, its out of system...
You fragging idiot!

Chimii, i suggest you find some other game, if you feel that going that fast is even remotely necessary. 3,9km/s is quite good for a vaga, and guess what, you can still dodge alot of stuff.
Try messing with some Afterburner fittings, it might not give you EXTREME SPEED!!! but it will allow you to duck under a lot of guns, and remove alot of dmg from missiles.
Try new stuff, it's healthy for you.

so you want to take away the whole risk/award aspect that people love eve for?
and anyway, if you actually knew anything about pvp you would know that 55kms is impossible to use

Nerfing 450% of its speed would in fact meen the nano would move backwards at 3.5 times its original speed, perhaps you mean it was nerfed 78.9%?

No it isn't. The nerf is on target and about damn time.
The reason you invested so much in nano is because it was broken. Currently it allows you to get out of a fight whenever you want to (when you're losing) therefore taking little risk. That's why it's popular, that's why it's broken and that is why it is getting nerfed. If you invested that much and yet couldn't figure out that it would get nerfed at some point, then you just got an expensive lesson. Either way, you get no sympathy from me dude.

We'll see - maybe the mods you use will go down in price as the demand will not be so high anymore.
But I agree to the previous posters who stated that a big investment should reduce your risk to die to everyone and his dog but not void it completely.
And all those who say that it's impossible to sneak through a gate camp may be surprised to hear that there are covert ops, recons and black ops ships in this game. Yes the black ops are expensive, but still cheaper than some nanos and they give you the opportunity to do what you want to do - sneak behind the enemy gatecamp.
They might deserve a slight buff (warping cloaked?) but even without that they are making much more sense now for guerilla tactics.

In any case the OP's complaint is pointless. How can a ship do 55km/s and not say that's silly? What missile would ever catch him? Turret maybe, but not a missile.

And this, of course, is completely incorrect. The only question is: A) Do you truly not know how nano fleets attack? B) Do you know, but prefer to cloud the issue with drek that sounds plausible but is actually far from the truth?
Regardless, that whole "risk vs reward" angle someone mentioned does have a direct bearing on "speed making it easier to get away" now doesn't it.
Speed tanking must be fixed, but not eliminated, within the mechanics of the game. I think there are a few things that should be tweaked in the new build on Sisi, but the concepts are sound.

If he had a 2 bil Sleipnir and you had a 2 bil Nighthawk why should you win no matter what? The question should be if you spend 2 billion to improve the tank of a NH, how much better does that tank get? Now if you spend 2 billion on a Vaga how much does its speed improve? I have tested this on the server and it is grossly uneven.

And therein is the rub.
3 bil on officer tank modules doesn't make a ship more than about 10-15% better than T2. 3 bil on a snakes/polys nano-fit can make you over twice as fast as T2, and beyond a certain speed you essentially become unkillable.
Yeah, yeah "there's loads of counters to nano" - if that's the case and nanoers are so easy to take down - why is it that everyone gravitated towards nano-fit ships?

55km/s is stupid, its about time it be stacking penalized, but it kills some of the ships that are only useful when nanoed (most minmatar ships). I personally think the base speed just needs to be adjusted up a bit on those so they can hit near 4km/s and avoid at least some damage.

Because its fun? Because its one of few legitimate small gang tactics vs. blobs?
