So, I'm something of an on-again off-again player and, now that I'm "on again", I've noticed something that wasn't around (or not so much that I really took notice of it) the last time I was about - macro haulers. Tons and tons and tons of them.
How is it that they manage to avoid the banstick? They're really easily identified and pervasive as all getout.

They could be just farmers, not macros.

I wasn't really taking it to be a problem, I was just curious.
I'd like them more if they were worth the cost of ammo to shoot, though.

Right, they really aren't a problem until they actually try to SELL the ISK they make.

So the extra lag they cause isn't a problem? you never tried warping into a belt with 30 or more of them farming away?

I suppose everyone should just quit EVE to solve the lag problem... Lag is caused by anyone who plays, and there's nothing wrong with playing 23/7 if that's what you pay for.

Except the only way you could do that without dropping dead through exhaustion is by account sharing which also breaking the eula just like isk selling?

If you suspect another user is macromining, macrohauling, or otherwise macrorule-breaking, please let us know! Create a petition with the categories "Rules & Policies," "EULA & Terms of Service." Be clear and concise, make sure you include the name of the user and what illegal activity you suspect them of. We will look into it ASAP.

I leave my account on 23/7 sometimes just sitting in a station although I think it boots me I'm not sure.

Typically via stolen credit cards, which ends with the credit card company voiding the fraudulent transaction. So in the end CCP usually loses the subscription payment.

Many of them have been petitioned time and time again and yet are still ingame 6+ months later even though they are blatantly using bots

This is already a well known trick used by wannabe pirates to get to -10 with a quickness. However it has no effect on the macro haulers as they just buy another cheap arse clone and cheap arse ship to continue their macro spamming.

they don't get banned cause they still pay for there accounts and its not good business sense to ban paying players you end up losing money.

That's wrong in most cases. These farmers (which was confirmed in another mmo I use to play) normally use stolen card numbers (identity theft etc.), which means the bank legally force CCP to return the money (in most cases).
That means CCP should (and do) try their hardest to eliminate the farmers, both for economical reasons and because if they continued allowing stolen credit csrds etc. the law wouldn't look to kindly on them.

Lets see, go to any High-sec ICE belt, and you will find many macro Miners. Go to any 0.9-1.0 asteroid belt and you will find many macro miners. Hell for that matter, go to just about ANY heavily mined high sec asteroid belt, and I will bet you that you will be able to find *gasps* Macro Miners by the dozens.
I have flown through 100 belts one day, yes 100 belts, several systems, and out of those 100 belts in systems with more than 10 people, I was able to observe at least 3-4 Macro Miners mining the belts. They are not hard to locate. All CCP has to do is go to the belts and you will find them easily enough... IF you really wanted to look for them. My experience is that you generally won't/don't.
Easier to suicide the bastiches than wait for you guys to deal with them.

Although that is a GREAT idea I think CCP have more pressing issues to fly round hundreds of hi-sec asteroid belts.

Thats my point actually. They want us to report these macro runners, yet, nothing and I mean literally NOTHING is done about them, even when it is GROSSLY obvious someone is running a Macro. I can literally go to nearly any high sec system with a decent player population (10+ player) and almost guarantee that out of those players, at minimum, and usually more, 1-3 will be a macro miner. I can also go to ANY high sec ICE field and GUARANTEE Macro Miners will be there.
Hell, there are macro Miners in almost every 0.9-1.0 system I have been in. If CCP really wanted to do something about them, they would have. Instead all their doing is blowing smoke up everyone's gas hole about it and doing nothing.
