No need to wait for Shiva to get pink ships...
Hanns wrote an excelent guide on how to make custom skins (about 10 months ago!), which should be available from the eve-i forums (search for "custom skin" if the deep link messes up).
It even includes a screenshot of a pink MOA  |

They're never likely to add the ability to let people choose the color of their ships. The reason is, that there would always be someone who wanted to make their ship the stupidest looking ship in space. Soon the game goes from a cool sci-fi setting to a cartoon setting and it costs them customers that don't want to fly around in a universe full of pink ships and lollypop missles.
I seem to rember a CSM a long time ago where they specificly used the example of pink ships to explain why they had no plans on letting people use custom skins.
The good news is that if you really want people to wonder what's wrong with you, you can get your car painted that color in real life. :)

What I would like would be for ccp to provide various textures and styles for ships, each with several color schemes. Maybe even place a spot on the ship so that the corp logo is displayed (in a place that makes sense, not just splayed on the behind of it)
