I am setup with my hard drive being E:\ There is no other drive on my system. When I start EvE it always at some point tried to query C:\ I know this because I get a pop up. Does not tell me what it is accessing or attempting to access. I've checked the registry however there are NO instances requesting C:\ all pointing to E:\. Is there a configuration file I am missing which might be doing this ?

Is your registry located on your C: drive? If so, its going to need to access your registry to get the data for eve. That in its own right would require a minimum of read access to the drive.

by default eve tries to create the cache/settings/log directories on the C drive, so thats probably the C drive access you are seeing. I think microsoft has some standard defined things about how games/apps should handle storing settings and other files on windows, and eve is just trying to use them.

One thing to overcome this is to change drive letter from E:\ to C:\. As this is your system drive, that's not a walk in the park...
For XP: How to restore the system/boot drive letter in Windows
How can I change the System partition drive letter in Windows XP?
Or do a complete re-install with a Format and change drive letter before installning Windows.
