after looking at the X-instinct changes
2.5% of something pitiful for synth 7.5% sig reduction for standard 11.25% for improved 15% for strong
ok, now with the side-effects, who are we kidding will ever want to take these? these either need some significant clout, or the speed bonus reinstated. signature radius bonuses, unless substantial are very situation specific bonuses, and tangibly useful in rare situations.
combat boosters are already fairly niche, and difficult to obtain themselves. my feeling is that if they stay as proposed, they will perhaps be as popular as sooth sayer. to put that in perspective, of the thousands of combat boosters we've sold this year, I think sold no more than 20 sooth, and most of those customers, were more interested in putting on some trance music and tripping out, than actually helping them shoot better.
was the speed bonuses really over-powered?
if the speed bonus is really off the table, agility?
even a mining bonus would be more useful.

as someone trying to get into gas cloud harvesting I think it's hard enough already with lack of information available, lack of market, and whatnot (still havn't got my hands on a bpc yet =(, never even seen one except the basic ones). last thing boosters need is a nerf.

After having a play with the spread sheet here
http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/KzIg/Halo.zip
very situational, but only when you are in the right ship against the right setup will you get a beneficial effect. all in all a strong X-instinct would give, for a one off, the same effect as a low-grade halo set at a price tag of somewhere between 25-50M for the privilege.
a strong blue pill in contrast, gives roughly the same affect as a full grade crystal set!
i'd suggest X instinct's proposed bonuses need to be double, or the speed bonus left as is.

Seems like a double nerf. In addition to being shifted off a speed bonus it's also not getting the standard percentages of all other boosters. Normally, all other synth boosters give +3% and so on up to +30% for strongs.
Maybe CCP's still mad about that cameraman. He was coming right for us, honest. =)

Most things on sissi have been double or overly nerfed so that a comprise can be more easily met.
This is the "high bid" as it were and it is used to make the real offer easier to swallow and look like a real bargain.
Have you never worked in direct sales?.
My views may reflect those of my corp/alliance, but if you wanna know for sure ask em for gods sake. |

Edited by: Papa Boats on 14/08/2008 14:52:23 The fact that CCP says that boosters are not being used much is just a clue of how out of touch they can be with some of the best items in the game. I have personally seen hundreds of boosters pass hands in less than a week. Everything Masu says is right. Sooth is not a good booster for most people so it does not sell. Exile and Blue Pill are good boosters for every capital pilot so are always in demand. X-instinct is the highest selling booster that i know of in all strengths.
Think about it my T2 unrigged raptor does 5572m/sec when i get into a nano fight with another ship and have to have more nano support come. Then I have to chase them down. With my knowledge and love for boosters i sell and use. I can easyly figure out if popping that improved X in my cargo bay will let me chase them down. If the changes go into effect for signature reduction who would benefit?
The dread pilot who might get close to a carrier size not worth it. The RR Fleet BS why bother reducing sig radious he has 100 friends to keep him alive. The BC/CMD Ship pilot who is boosting fleet he wont need it. Or the cruiser or frig size class ships that are only fighting the support and can warp at will. Thank you CCP for totally destroying another drug you have created. This will more than likly make X-instinct the new unused drug in the game. Please instead of just nerfing drugs for the 5th time talk to the actual drug producers and distibuters in the game.
