I try to open a second client of eve and I either get the "EVE Has stopped responding" or my system goes into a hard crash (Just a black screen, not a BSOD) and when I try to boot up I had to pick something about the BIOS using default settings or something and then hit last known good configuration.
A month or so ago I was able to run two accounts but for some reason now it doesnt work.
Specs:
eVGA GTX280 Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 4GB of DDR3 Ram P45 DDR3 64bit Vista
Any ideas?

Not sure if this will work for your issue:
If you run EVE in windowed mode try going to full screen on your first client first, then switch back to windowed mode and minimize the window. Then open your second client.
Some people were having a similar problem (myself included) where they get an error message while trying to open the second client and this should fix that problem.
I hope this helps for your issue too...

You sir, are made of win. And cake.
Now that I think about it around the time I started running windowed mode was the same time I was not able to dual boot. Another interesting thing is if I dont do the trick you mentioned, I get the BSOD but if I do it your way, it works lol.
Anyways, thanks again :)

Mine crashes if I attempt to have both accounts playing sound, so you might try disabling sound for both accounts (though I think you can have only one setting which defaults to the same as the settings last used). Then enable sound if you want it on one of them.
good luck.

Welcome to ac97 audio & eve, as for the locking up on dual accounts alt tabbing will odds on kill it thanks to drivers, not the only game it happens in but both ati and nvidia still haven't tracked it down -------------------------

I have the same problem. the time between getting two clients loaded and the time one or both crashes is getting shorter and shorter no matter what i try to do to prevent it. it happens on every computer i use and every ISP so it isnt an individual computer issue.
