Edited by: Sir Atkinson on 08/08/2008 07:33:22 The contract system is slow and annoying. It takes forever to find the exact offer you want. Just allow every item, ships etc. etc. in-game on the market and let us go shopping. I realise that this could be a problem for scammers, but do not fear. There will always be morons out there for you:P

no.
Half the profitability in faction/officer mods is in the fact that they're rare. Take this away and everyone would just fit faction/officer mods since its so available. -

The modules would still be rare my friend as they would be put on the market by the finder. The market isn't inter regional like the contract system which is also annoying, but obvious due to the political landscape in EVE. CCP put pirate implants on the market a while ago. Do the same with the rest.
I apologise for using the term "seed" in the first post. It is obviously the wrong term to use.

Some modules are extremely rare. One of the nice things about contracts, is that I can find the item I want no matter what region it is, and sometimes, an item a client needs is in a small obscure region in the middle of nowhere. Contracts allow me to see where the items are and either contact the seller directly for a private contract, or fly there to get it.
With the market, you doom all those modules to be lost in the regional markets, or force everyone to go to Jita.
Besides, finding the specific module you want is easy. Contracts search system is rather powerful if you know how to use it.
edit: That means no, i don't want those items seeded on the market. Not everyone uses contracts just for scams. -- this is my sig. |

Look you dumb sh!ts he wanted them to be able to be SOLD on the market, not seeded.
I agree that it would be nice not having to jerk between contracts and market when looking at prices on certain things, but it's not needed.
Prime example these people are of how dull this community is getting... LEARN TO READ.

Nah, itĘs perfectly fine as it is. Market = official business, Contracts = Things a little more extravagant =)

Good idea.
I sell you a module and make a profit. Check the transaction when it goes through, I suicide you and get a chance to get the module back to sell it again.

Edited by: Tippia on 08/08/2008 09:47:24 Wait… are people really this ignorant about how the market and contracts work‽
…and I thought I was a n00b.
also: Meh… You can still auction them off through contracts if you want to be able to reach further than your back-water region, and most will end up on the Jita market anyway. Then again, it'll be annoying to have to actually go to the Forge and take a look.

Yeh but I don't know about you but my market updates faster than my contracts. Which means playing catch up or being further down the pipe trying to guess were he's going.
Plus I don't have the same capacity for contracts as I do for the market on my combat main.
If I sit and wait for 1 contract I'm gonna get seriously bored. Plus the chance I'll be on when its bought is a lot less than if I have a lot of sell orders up.
Proftiability depends on the module and ship used obviously.

i understand ops idea and i say no for 2 reasons
1. market isn't inter region, if you are searching for a 120mil isk item it helps to be able to view all offers of it everywhere in eve not just in your current region. Also helps to check what prices I can sell my cool shiney thing for without having to have a jita market alt.
2. you know those 0.01 isk bidding wars? I'd rather not have them with my faction item sales. faction items already have to be hauled out from 0.0 most of the time so the people usually aren't around to participate in the bidding war that happens with market. (if you are wondering how this is different from now, contracts can't have their price changed half way through so if you want to increase bid it will cost you a market tax of a couple % to do it).
