I've read the FAQ in the help channel, but i still don't get it!
Is there complexes that needs to be scanned down in hostile areas, and when they are completed u get vicotry points for that.
After reading the FAQ I got the impression that it is the bunkers that is the target, but you can't shoot at them? :P
Pls help me ... how do I get victory points, I'm definately missing something here :P
And is it possible to get victory points solo, or do you always have to do it in gangs?

Aah, mkay, thanx!
So far I have found a couple of theese plexes that belongs to my own faction, and the timer is half way. Is there a way for me to protect it as well and help get it back?

You only get VP in your own systems if they are contested. Then the VP will be a small percentage more than if you were capturing one in an enemy system.

you should finish any of the plexes found open in your own secure systems. this denies your minmatar foes a chance to capture them.

Hmm, sounds kinda strange though. To save my own system I have to kill all the faction ships at it that belongs to my own faction. Can that really be true?

nononono, dont shoot the friendly rats.
if you in a home system that is not contested then doing a plex will give you no points.
if your in a home system that is contested then doing a plex will give you points and help move the system to being un-contested
if your in a hostile system then doing a plex means you get shot at by the rats and if you pull it off then you get points and move the system towards being vulnerable.
when a system becomes vulnerable the bunker can then be shot at to make it switch sides. Because sometimes you just have to go back to your roots: [2005.02.20 01:08:03] (combat) Your Civilian Light Electron Blaster perfectly strikes Serpentis Smuggler, wrecking for 20.3 damage |

Ehhm, glad that there seems to be some kind of logic to it though :P
Anyway, so if I am in one of my own faction systems and find a plex that belongs to my own faction and it is contested, then I just have to search through the same system to find me a gallente plex as well, and erase that one?
Sry, for maybe beein a little slow here, but everyone in militia just laughs at my questions, but all I wanna do is to help out :P

there is a nice dev blog you can link to for anyone laughing at your questions, it mentions quite clearly that FW is for getting people to try out pvp for the first time. which means you have to assume that there will be people on your side that dont know one end of a rail gun to another.
anyway, if your in home turf you will only see friendly plexs. so if its a contested system then feel free to find a plex and sit in it with a horde of rats to protect you. any gallente pilot will have to fight you and the rats to take control of the plex.
and try finding out about your sides forums, there should be some good guides in there. |

Do you get points for capturing a plex in a hostile system that is not contested? |

Yes. Capturing a hostile complex always gives VP.
Capturing a friendly complex only gives you VP if the system is contested. |

I just had a sudden thought strike me. Is it still a CONCORDOKKEN offense if you repair the rats with remote reps/drones?

you may have the same problem that i do. there are FW complexes and then there are the mission complexes that spawn in the same systems. FW agents give out missions and it can be hard to tell from a scan which are which. if you go into a mission the npc's even though nominally on your side will light you up. you just leave the mission and if you are feeling tough enough you may camp the gate to the mission waiting for the owner to show up to do it. |

Alrighty, big thanks to all replies so far, think I'm gettin the hang of it now :)
Anyway, to try all this out I headed out into hostile faction space, and started scanning down "Anomolies", and I found a major one. Headed into it, and cleared it out. Then a nice little "Contested" timer appeared.
How's that working?
Will it remain there for a certain amount of time, and the just disappear?
Is it something the opposing faction can do to prevent it from reaching 0?
Is there other complexed spawned after this that I can scan donw and continue fighting? |

in the complex you have to be within range of the timer to keep it ticking, once it fills up the plex is then yours and you get your points. the range and time needed depends on the plex, a minor is 10km range and 10 mins, the range and time gets bigger for bigger plex's
if there is no one near the timer then it freezes, and if there are hostiles and friendlies near the timer then it freezes. if another team takes over control they then have to un-do all the time before they can start capturing the plex for them selves. |

Will there always be an anomolie in a hostile system that can be scanned down? |

When you complete a complex it disappear and respawns somewhere else. This may be the same system, this may be the same constellation, or it may be further away. Eventually more plexes will appear in that contested system, when you find them, run them. After running a certain number of plexes in any one given system, that system will become Vulnerable instead of Contested. When it is vunerable, you warp to the bunker (that is always visable on your overview even whe not vulnerable) and attack it and defeat the plex. When that is done, the system is yours. |

Hey, BIG thanks to all! Now I'm up and running with 200 fresh victory points scored for my corporation and faction!
To sum it all up ...
Victory points are earned by taking control over enemy faction plexes. Plexes are found as Cosmic Anomolies and has to be scanned down. There are different size of plexes out there that allows different sizes of ship. When finding a plex it turns "public" and lits up in the system, making it possible for everyone to enter it.
To capture it u need to kill all enemy faction ships and stay at the plex until the caption timer runs out. When it does, the plex is securly taken, and can be left behind => points to you!
You can also earn victory points by recapturing plexxes that enemies has started from your own faction. Just enter the plex as it is lit up in the overview, close up on the capturing point, and have the timer starts ticking. If there are any enemies there, kill them and you'll get some help from your own faction NPC's that is spawned there. When timer runs out you have captured the plex => victory points to you and your faction.

of course you do realise this means i now have to hunt you down and kill you for attacking federate space
just a shame your militia couldn't help you with this
maybe you need to swap sides Because sometimes you just have to go back to your roots: [2005.02.20 01:08:03] (combat) Your Civilian Light Electron Blaster perfectly strikes Serpentis Smuggler, wrecking for 20.3 damage |
