The most I ever get is 10 fps in a station.
I so far have tried....
- Turning off audio hardware acceleration
- Using premium and non premium content
- Toggling every option including cache size in the options menu
- Forcing low quality with NVidia's control panel.
- Tried 3 versions of GPU drivers
- Re-installed direct X
- Re-installed Mobo drivers
No matter what I do i get the same laggy, barely playable FPS.
Missions are 1-3 FPS
My 6600gt with a 1.8ghz athalon ran the game much smoother Any ideas? |

What motherboard? Have you activated any fancy stuff in BIOS, like ACHI? |

Edited by: Alannis on 24/08/2008 12:16:14 No fancy stuff is on.
I disabled audio hardware accel in EvE client and this gave me a few more FPS but it's still terrible. On larger missions I sometimes get only half a dozen frame updates a MINUTE.
Really annoying bug with eve. All other games play fine and dandy.

Well, activating the fancy stuff (like AHCI for example) did help one player out earlier on the forums. If you got fairly new hardware, there are almost only benefits when using all the bangs and whistles on all the settings.

First off, Dude, that sucks.
Second, as a huge intel fanatic and user, Celerons really should not be used to game with, no matter how fast they are. 7600GT should be replaced asap.
I would say, spend a bit of coin and get a AMD (I can't believe I just typed that) or get a intel pentium Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad. For a graphics card, get a 8800GT.
Should be about 500$ but, just my advice.

Thanks for the reply.
Problem is - until recently I was playing eve on a low end AMD (Duron 1.3ghz!) chip with a 6600GT and 2gb ram - it ran fine! I bought a cheap and cheerful upgrade to the current system and it plays like crap!
All my other games (BF2, Rome Total War, COD4, etc) run fine.
Argh!

I also had a low FPS problem and in my case, the solution was to go into graphics options and set Interval to Immediate (I have no clue what that actually does - but it definitely fixed my problem). "The enemy of my enemy... is still my enemy" - Drago Musevini |
