I'm currently down the gallente BS path and training up for a domi. Are they good for blitzing missions? My impression is that they are low-DPS tanks and good for AFKing, so I'm thinking of going down the caldari path since everyone seems to recommend the drake / tengu for mission running.
I'm mission running in Amarr space if that makes any difference. |

A 350 rail fit domi with sentries will make short work of most any mission.
Its a lot of DPS when used right. I dont use the fit myself so dont have one to link. But i think it shield tanks and uses the lows for damage mods. |

They are good at fast pocket clearing with rails and sentries, but that setup is something of an anathema to blitzing - as you either have to wait till you can pick the drones up or come back for them.
If you intend entering, killing just triggers and target, looting and leaving, then marauder or mach is probably best. You might try fitting drone nav comps, blasters and heavies so that at least the heavies beat you to targets when you MWD.
Its never really hit as me as something I'd fit up personally - my hull is sentry rigged and thats the way I likes it.

I run a dominix fit 1000 dps 400 dps tank. It blitzes fairly well but the tank is weaker because you can't mitigate damage by moving because of sentries. Works miracles vs serpentis and angels but is weaker vs ranged rats or blood raiders. The best blitz ship imo is the machariel, although i hear the vargur is excellent. |

If you cant do it in the domi then it isnt worth doing.

If by blitz you mean warp into the mission, blap the few ships needed to actually complete the mission, then GTFO, no, the domi isn't good at blitzing. If you mean warp into the mission mow down everything in site, and then leave the field a bunch of wrecks, yes the domi is good at that. A mach is probably still better at both approaches, but you can use either the 350 armor domi, 350 shield domi, or the 425 shield navy domi to great effect.
