I'm sure most of you are aware of the upcoming Spore. That game is gonna rock.
However, probably many of you don't know that you can not only design creatures, but also spaceships! it's Incredible (And also buildings, cities, the ecosystem of the whole planet...)
Sexy huh? I wish we had that in eve...
You'll see me piloting a machariel in that spore game, mwahaha.
Will you get it?
PS: if you have some time, drop a comment in my werewolf. |

If the original concept hasn't changed since the beginning, then it WILL be an awesome game. However, it's being published by EA. That alone probably means it's going to be a deranged mutated dumbed-down monstrosity based loosely on the original concept. |

I read that they're gonna allow you to somehow report ***** stuff in order to keep your spore world free of crap like that...I am, however, rather skeptical |

And add to that, EA's protection method that leaves you with only 3 installs before you have to buy a new disk. Remember Mass Effect, it's the same protection method they are going to use for Spore.

I suspect that within three days after launch someone will have made videos of a highly detailed spore Deathstar, Star Destroyer, X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Enterprise, Borg Cube, Klingon ship of some sort or other, Battlestar Galactica, and probably a few others I forgot.
Awesome. |

I'd be tempted to buy the disk legally, then download a cracked copy just to get around that. If my understanding of copyright law is correct, it's perfectly legal to download proprietary software over the blog-o-sphere if you already own a legal copy. You just need to say it's a "back-up". |

Awesome.
I'm going to start a project myself of re-building all the famous ships from EVE in spore.
I'm afraid minmatar will be the hardest, while the easiest will probably be the gallente. Who knows. |

just 4 things:
1) the universe will be populated to 70% by **** shaped aliens. 2) you can eastly get rid of them with the ray gun of doom. 3) i have already pre ordered this game. 4) anyone know if the other races(than the one you make) will be able to travle in space? because i wouldnt want to fly around exploring and then go back home to find that my starting system is -1 planet but +1 asteroid field...

And their response to all the inevitable bugs/problems is uninstall/reinstall?? I;ve had to reinstall EvE about 8 times total over the years, across 5 computers. AoC I had to reinstall 6 times in the first 3 weeks.... |

Yeah I watched a demo by Will Wright and it showed him flying in his ship and getting a distress call from his home planet and had to rush back to defend against the invading aliens. |

What would be great is if everyone got a planet of their own and it was massively multiplayer
Personally I'd keep my planet all natural with no technology but have a ****ing evil virus that attaches to the equipment of any visitor and he takes it back home with him and it kills his whole planet |

Holy Crap.
Seven individual, foil-wrapped-for-freshness, batteries-not-included, some-assembly-required, I-can't-believe-its-not-butter levels of AWESOME.
I'm totally getting spore. I decided that when I created Xerion-Kasai.
Now reading the comments there, I thought the creatures we created were the creatures we played as after the full evolution is complete or whatever.
Some dude there is saying the creatures we create are just NPC ones? |

As far as I know the created creatures should be playable. They can be NPCs in someone else's galaxy once they're shared though.

Yeah but when the creature editor was released EA somehow found a way to fix it so that the pirated version could only access 75% of the content. Anyone know anything about this? If our brave boys in the pirate sector found a way round this? If not then i reckon the same will apply to the entire game. |

I have my doubts, isn't part of what draws people to sci-fi the desire to explore and find something new out there, someone else?
There will be the everpresent p-monsters and it's singleplayer so you'll never make a real first contact which makes me wonder just how fast the gameplay will get old, all customization aside. |

Not sure, but pirates are pretty much always 1 step ahead of the publisher anyway and pretty much without exception seem to crack every single copyright mechanism. |

100% awesomeness as soon as EA's draconian copyprotection fades away.
As it stands its 99.5%. Its got a awesomeness multiplier removing the 70% EA debuff.
Spore is definately on my shopping list. Already went downtown and asked my friend to hold a copy for me at his shop even before release date. |

I never trust demo's, had my fingers burned with a perfect running demo version of Farcry and then the full game wouldn't run without a mega huge patch applied. Therefore I dl the pirate versions and see if they work first and also see if the game is really worth buying.
I have a dl of the full creature creator cracked and it has no problem accessing 100% of the content. I think it's a bit of propaganda spread by EA to make the pirate version seem flawed.
