Minmatar 17th Minmatar Tactical Wing

The 17th Tactical Wing's fundamental purpose is defense of the Republic against Amarrian aggression. To that end, we have engaged in both defensive and offensive patrols under the umbrella of Electus Matari. However, CONCORD regulations and the reality of a resurgent Amarr crusade against our people mean that the ROE appropriate to an industrialist defensive alliance no longer work for a forward-operating military organization.
Therefore, after consultation with fleet commanders and other active pilots within the 17th Tactical Wing, we have unanimously decided to separate from EM.
We salute the loyal pilots of EM and their continued dedication to the cause of our people. The 17th holds EM in the highest regard and we look forward to cooperation on issues and operations that will benefit the Minmatar Republic, its citizens, and all people dedicated to freedom and liberty.

On behalf of Electus Matari, I'd like to wish 17th good luck in the future. It's a shame we had to go our separate ways, but I cannot back aggression against neutrals without proof of some crime, nor does the alliance's charter permit adoption of any other stance.
Good luck, 17th, and I hope the choices you make in your targets are the right ones.

I hope that regardless of the relations between the 17th and Electus Matari, both groups will continue being the beacons of hope for the Matari people that they have been. Fly free, both of you.

Sheesh.
This is WAR. Get over with it. Paper manoeuvring itself between scissor blades can't blame anyone but itself for getting cut.

Sheesh.
This is WAR. It's not like we camp neutrals at the gate, even though they might be spies. We _do_ hold up the peace aggressively and prejudicial, though. Neutrals entering military targets aren't your standard innocent puppy.
The policy, as it seems, is "NRDS but don't tempt me"

The policy is "NRDS everywhere except Amarr-occupied space, where we are NBSI".
Piracy has an economic motive; ours is military. Our motive is to destroy the logistical chain feeding the Amarrian war effort, not to fatten our wallets or gain any sort of individual reputation.

Stop quarreling, folks.
We all have the same enemy now, regardless of what other principles we hold.
We'll meet on the orbit of Free Amarr Prime to settle this little matter of definition between us, in a few years time, no?

Kitoba, accept that you have your way and Electus Matari have their way. You decide what policies are best for you and they for them.
The 17th seem to understand this with EM and picked their direction. You on the other hand are butting in for a fight for the sake of fighting. As you said though, it is 'war' so as Elsebeth said it is best to stop fighting over that. ------ Mirkur Draug'Tyr :: Recruitment |

Please keep in mind, that a person should be free to pick their friends, and free to live the life they have, without being forced into different beliefs.
Friends don't use force, they don't need it. They have trust in one another.
If the Minmatar said to you, "We only want to make life better for you and all Amarr," would you embrace them as your friends?

Aodha, I look forward to it.
As for the rest: as I've stated several times, this is not a 'rebuke' of EM. We believe that winning this war requires certain tactics to which EM is not amenable. Rather than cause internal tension and strife, and certainly rather than contravene rules to which we had agreed, we chose to do our part to prosecute the war outside of their organization.
EM continues to fight for and strengthen the Republic, and therefore we see them, not as misguided has-beens (as some in this thread seem to imply), but rather as allies. .-.-. "It's easy to play the unique snowflake. The real challenge is playing the stereotype and making it interesting." |

I should also add that EM regards 17th as allies in the war, not as renegades on their way into petty crimes and oblivion - as some have tried to imply.
We disagree on the acceptable level of collateral damage we are willing to incur, but we do not disagree on the goal.

Glad to have the 17th on board. I believe I've already had the priviledge of flying with some of you a few times.
