I would guess that this topic may have been mentioned before, but didn't find anything in the first page of this forum...
Our corporation has several labratories and manufacturing arrays, which are very usefull to our Directors.
The problem is, newer corporate members would also like to use these facilities...but are slightly hindered.
The Configure Starbase Equipment role lies at the heart of this issue.
(First of all, let me say that by assigning this role, you also give the ability to power down and unanchor/remove every POS module you have. (including the tower itself I assume))
Now then.....
"other" hanger access was given for one divisional "general use hanger", as well as the rent factory/lab role and Factory Manager role, but, in order to "drop" or "take" items from the POS labs or arrays I found the Config. Starbase Equip. role was also necessary.
Without it, one cannot drop minerals into the hanger for production, nor remove the finished products.
Using remote research and manufacturing skills can circumvent the problem, but entails those with the C.S.E. role (namely Directors) to take an active part in supplying the array with the needed minerals, and collecting the finished product.
My question is, could a mid-point of access be made without jepordizing the security of the entire station? Something like....Labratory or Factory Technician? It would seem that roles like these could be worked into the already established Hanger and Wallet divisional system?
Otherwise, the directors of our corp will have even more duties added to their already dwindling time available for self and corporate productions, and new members might very well become frustrated with the "hurry and wait" prospects of manufacturing from our POS.

I would like to add that the place minerals into the POS array's storage can be accomplished with starbase fuel technician rights, but I would like to ask what in the world do the two have in common? These issues need rectified asap and wouldn't take very long by a competent member of the development team.
BTW, this in no way is to be taken as a slander of any kind against the dev team, I'm very impressed with the way they have changed the game so far!

Manage the structures and change the use/view/take to corp (there are 4 settings usually starbase config/ caretaker/corp/alliance).
You don't need any special roles to access and use the structures compared to normal hangars/station facilities. Once set to 'corp' in the starbase management interface, the hangars within that module will use the normal corp hangar (other) roles.

I think we could really do with a few more options other than the current:
-Corp -Alliance -caretaker -Config Manger
I'd say for the most part you ignore corp and alliance as they function slightly differently which leaves us with two configurable options. I'd like to see this raise to at least 5, preferably ten with assignable names and associated roles, in the same way as title management.
I'd also like some changes to having to assign the 'factory manager' role to anyone who wants to use labs soo that you can assign a role so someone can put jons on without the authority to cancel them.

So Lord Fitz, is it correct there is actually no roles needed to access the Labs?
