Anybody run these regularly? I ran 2 radar and 1 mag yesterday. If you've run them before, you know they spawn several times more ships then a usual sleeper anomaly. I must have destroyed 20-30 ships per site, and got a measly 2 nano ribbons from salvaging all of them. And the loot I got from hacking and analysing was shite too. So my question is: Do radar and mag site sleepers drop inherently less salvage due to the 'other' loots you get in the site, or did I just have some truly horrible luck? |

It's CCP rebalancing how loot drop works in Anoikis AND bad luck. Just keep at it, you'll get more loot eventually. |

In my experience WH mag and radar sites do not routinely drop nanoribbons. I consider myself lucky if I get even one.
The anoms (in a class 1, at least) drop on average 2 to 3 nanoribbons per site. http://ridingevewormhole.blogspot.com/

Yeah, it gets a bit class dependent. C5 can drop anywhere from 0-39. It's nutty like that. |

I've run a few mags and radars in C1/C2 and never got anything worth the bother. Do they ever give anything worthwhile?
I agree on the 2-3 melted nanos per anom but it seems to swing wildly. Often I get nothing several times in a row then I get 8 or 9 a couple of times. Anyone any idea what the distribution curve looks like (I'm convinced it isn't a bell curve centred on 2.5, or anything like that). |

The most you'll get out of c1-2 mags and radars is datacores, hybrid techs and wrecked items used for reverse engineering. Useful, but not on the same level as higher up stuff.
As for the distribution curve, it is literally all over the damn place. It's literally random. So all we can do is shoot. |

Nanoribbons aside (random = random), the "wrecked XX" items you mention are known as Sleeper Relics, and they are used to build T3 hulls and subsystems. The better condition the relic is in (Wrecked, Malfunctioning or Intact) means a better yield to the T3 builder. So 'wrecked' items are the lowest of the low, and therefore have a pretty crappy sell price (a few 100,000 isk mostly).
Going from C1/2 mags & radars to C3 versions (especially the mag sites) is several levels up on the isk income stakes. For a start, C3's are where you start to find Malfunctioning relics. These are worth 2.5-30mill each. The discrepancy is because some subsystems are more desirable than others. So the Wrecked Weapon Subroutine relic is sought after since it's used to build offensive subsystems.
I once flew off from a Forgotten Frontier Recursive Depot (the hardest site in a C3) with over 400m of blue loot, ribbons and relics including the C3 jackpot "Malfunctioning Hull Section" which is used to build the T3 hulls. That has buy orders in Jita of 71mill, simply because they are rarer to drop than the 5 subsystem relic types.
Intact relics are of course the golden goose, but (correct me if I'm wrong) you'll only find these in the C5 & C6 mag sites.
In short - if you want to make money from mag sites, get into running C3 mags asap. The radars are still, comparatively, not worth nearly as much in terms of crate contents - apart from Caldari Hybrid Tech Decryptors which are worth about 7m per. The box said "Requires Windows-á2000 or better", so I installed Linux. |

Thanks for the info. Yeah I think I'll be skipping c2 radar and mag sites. It's bad enough that nanoribbon prices seem to be on an ever downward spiral price wise. |

I just got 8 ribbons out of a C1 mag site. It's fixed!
Honestly I have not noticed any real correlation between the different sites and ribbon drop. Darn random number generator. |

I feel sorry for you and the OP. I get on average 3-5 nanoribbons per class 1 site, and the only hacking site I ran yielded about 25 mil worth of goodies. -á"The Mittani: Hated By Badposters i'm strangely comfortable with it" -Mittens |

All Sleeper wrecks drop Nanos. It is true that you sometimes get 0 Ribbons out of an Anomaly but 10 out of 5 Frig wrecks in a Ladar Site, but that's all situatial.
Overall the Nano drop rate is **** no matter what you do. Even in our tripple escalated C5 sites we sometimes get under 25 Ribbons. And yes Mag and Radars usually give less Ribbons and sometimes VERY crappy loot. It can happen that even in a C5 Radar you don't get a single Caldari Decryptor (which are the only ones worth sth)
As for Sleeper Relics, the Hull Section does not drop and will not be found in a Can. You will need to "escalate" the site. Meaning that you will need to warp more people in then needed. This will spawn a Talocan Wreck which is also salvagable and that is what gives you the Hull Section.
Have to say that I never have salvaged an Intact Hull Section, I would very much like to though.

this is definitely false. if anything, there seems to be an equal chance of ribbons dropping, no matter what wreck size. as c1 sites tend to have more wrecks/site, you may get more ribbons from c1s on average.

I have found in all the randomness in a C3 and C4 wh's that you tend to get more nanoribons from BS wrecks. Mag and Radar's do generally give less, the salvaged and hacked cans are meant to maybe make up for it.. but unless you into T3 indy stuff.. its not that great. nanoribbons do appear to have come down slightly.. but 1 year or so ago you were lucky to get 5mil each.. so its not that bad, and before you say.. but POS fuel has gone up... we PI all the necessary and a monthly ish corp ice mining op sorts the rest out. |

In C2's, I don't generally bother with Mag sites if I have to choose due to limited time or whatever. Radar sites, however, have been pretty good to me. Not because of nanoribbon drops though, those I haven't been very lucky with, it seems. But I usually get several Caldari Tech Decryptors per radar site, which are worth about as much as nanoribbons per unit. In fact, usually I get more Caldari decryptors per radar than I do nanoribbons after spending the same amount of time cleaning anoms (sometimes it's a bust, of course...) Most of the other stuff that falls out of radar cans is quite meh. You don't have to kill Sleepers to access the cans, actually, but I do it anyway At least, it used to be that you didn't need to kill them, dunno if it changed. Tanking the initial group is very easy in a Drake even if you have to sacrifice a mid slot for a codebreaker. I don't fit MWDs on my anti-Sleeper Drakes so travel between cans can get pretty annoying. This is probably the real reason I kill all radar Sleepers and have the alt salvage, actually, just don't remember now.
Also, some of the best luck I've had with nanoribbons was from popping frigates in ladars and gravs in low level wormholes. YMMV I suppose. |

Interesting. I harvest gas on a regular basis, mining less so, and rarely get nanoribbons from wrecks in ladar site and belts.
Funny how we so want to find patterns where there really aren't any. http://ridingevewormhole.blogspot.com/

Ran 6 sites last week and got 32 ribbons (mix of anoms)
ran six sites the week before and got 9
ran 2 radar site last week and got 6 caldari decryptors
ran 2 radar sites 3 weeks ago and got 2 decryptors total (neither Caldari)
Gotta love the randomness of the game especially in a WH |
