Gallente Eve's Brothers of Destiny FOUNDATI0N

The fifth part of the Prophecy states:
Prophecy of Macaper
Quote: the little brother makes the final sorrowful steps home; he is not welcome
I believe that this describes the seizure and current occupation of Caldari Prime by the State. By any real definition, the State is smaller than the Federation, and home worlds sharing a solar system is about as close to brotherhood as you can get. Yet after all this time, the world has changed. The population is mostly Gallente, and I'm sure that the civilian response to Caldari troops is as warm as the climate of the world.
Does anyone else see what I mean, or am I mistaken?
Make me pretty!

That's the one problem with Macaper's "prophecies". They're so vague that they're of no practical use whatsoever in calculating future events, and are only made clear with hindsight. -

While not a credible idea in the least, it is still an idea nonetheless, and is thus worth at least some iota of consideration. However, even I doubt its truthfulness.

Ugh, not this again...
Macaper was a hack! All of her supposed 'prophecies' could be applied to so many different events, that it's ultimately not worth reading too much into any of them.

I agree, it is worth an iota of consideration... If memory serves, an "iota" is the smallest possible particle of a substance that there can possible be.
The amount of consideration due the whole Enheduanni "theory", therefore, is less than the amount of consideration necessary to actually write the word down. -

Edited by: Logoth on 26/08/2008 11:29:13 Prophecy is a poor guide to the future, as the events that prophecy describe, are often past before we can ever learn there meaning. And these events can often be missed as many believe that a prophesied event will be widely known and recognisable.

Hell that prophecy could refer to me or dozens of other pople or things. I am the youngest of my brothers, and not liked by my family. If i was ever to go home to them, i would imahine i wouldn't be welcomed.

Also, note that it states "Sorrowful steps home;" I'm no expert, but I don't think that the Caldari was crying rivers after taking that planet.
I'd bet though, that if ever they lose it again, they will indeed cry. I actually hope it won't come to that.
Prophecy... worthless speculation really. I wonder how many times people will bring this up, this is... what? The third time in a few months?

I always thought that the Prophecy about the little browser that makes his sorrowful steps home and is not welcome, is about the Relationship between the Minmatar Republic and the Ammatar Mandate.
With the aid of the elders the Nefantar reunite with the other Minmatar Tribes but those that are still primarily loyal to the Republic, are not too happy about it.

Well, people are always quick to invent conspiracy theories to blame everything that goes bad around them on some omnipotent evil force. At least you can't declare war on those imaginary Enheduanni and suicide your entire fleet in an attempt to actually win it. |

I think you're mistaken. Due to the following things:
- "makes the final sorrowful steps home" This implies that the initiative is on the side of the smaller party. In this case, not the Caldari State, but the planet Caldari Prime.
- "he is not welcome" Whatever the case might be how it happened, Caldari Prime would never be unwelcome in the Caldari State.
Now however, the other way around the prophecy could be right. Suppose that the Caldari and Gallente civilians managed to wrest control of the planet away from the Caldari Navy and send their intentions to the Federation to rejoin it. Knowing the lenghts the Caldari State already went through to get it once, would a ticking time bomb be welcome again in the Federation? To be fair, I'd say the answer would be 'yes', so then the prophecy would not be valid.
Ofcourse this is all hypothetical, but right now, whatever this prophecy aims at.. It sure isn't Caldari Prime. _________

The little brother implied here is the State, and home is Caldari Prime.

But would the State be welcomed on a planet mainly populated by Gallente, Intaki, and Mannar? Taken by force? What about Heth? I doubt he would be welcomed as a liberator by most of the populace.

Sorry about that, it's been rather hectic lately, trying to get a lot of ship components built for a side project.
Quote: ôthe appetite of nothing expands over the worldö
I recall about a year or so ago where a planet suffered what appeared to be a Doomsday Device activation from a Titan-class vessel. I believe it was hinted that it was a , and with all the devastation, it was said that the "appetite of nothing" had indeed covered the world. It was weeks before anyone could even land to check for survivors, and communications were impossible.
If someone can find a link to that article, I'd be grateful.

Aye, "Little" seems to imply some size relation. Although combined with "Brother" you could opt for an age relation. Going with the size.. well, the State has alot more planets then just Caldari Prime. So that wouldn't fit. Going with age, yes, you could say that Caldari Prime spawned the State. But then the second part wouldn't make any sense.

That's the point I'm making. The steps the State took towards Caldari Prime can't be called "Sorrowfull" even at the best of explanations. Also the "Final" coming before it seems to imply that afterwards no more conquest would happen. With the Militia Act that also isn't true.

It's a scenario that could happen and that would confirm to the description of the prophecy. On the other hand the invasion of Caldari Prime doesn't confirm to the description which ever way you look at it. _________

Folklore, prophecies and hearsay, nothing more than rumours and old wives tales that have become twisted and distorted as they've been passed from person to person.
Greed, racism and hate are what drive the current conflict we're all witnessing. Nothing more.
