I personnally think that the body part buy back idea is a very bad 1 year old birthday treat.
I just want to know what everyone elses opinion is about it and whether you are actually trying to take part in it ?
P.S. I think A new item (be it a ship or a ship item)for each race for free from the word go would have been an easier option!

The point is, it isn't supposed to be easy.
If the point was just that you'd get what you want, why even play?
We play for the challenge and to spend time with people we've gotten to know and learned to like. Never forget that.
This event has both things, as the race to be the best is a challenge, and the cooperation it requires is rewarding socially and stuff.
Apart from that, it's an ongoing storyline that - besides brining in some limited run bpc's - also generates a lot of events, probably not only those listen in The Scope forum.

Im sorry but did I ask for peoples opinions. I dont personnally remember asking to be flamed. This is a free world where you are aloud an opinion dont force yours on to me :(
Yes it is a good idea to do it the way they are, BUT I wanted to know how many people are actually doing it. Seeing as I only have one useless reply I'd say not many.
I have tried obtaining the items I need but Im not flying 20 jumps plus 1000 or how ever many times to get them. And as usual there are those people who want you to sell them for rediculous amounts :)

Its actually been a good event to participate in, the level of teamwork and co-operation has really took my by surprise. Several billion ISK have been used spend by racial collectors in the last few weeks, so that should be a good indication of how people have been willing to get involved.
However, the actual buy back has been borked by CCP a bit, but from the latest news they seem to have settled on a non-exploitable buy back option.

So which will it be?
As long as you only say "I don't like it" and not give a reason for it (which you only did in the second post), I will say exactly what springs to my mind concerning this.
As for you not wanting to fly to get them, that's your choice. They placed them in the station you last docked in, so you had your chance to get them easily (unless you 100 jumps away and hadn't docked in the meantime).
If you wanted a free bday present, you should've said that.

And on a sidenote (and back on topic) it seems quite a fair few are participating from what I see. I just recently joined the Caldari State Citizens where the Caldari buy-back programme is organised, and it seems a lot of people are interested in helping.

Oh as for the event think its cool and all just have no real modivation because if they do release the original sometime in the near future (which it sounds like) it doesn't make any sense at all. I woulda prefered the Covert Ops Frig paired with the Cloaking personally.

At least have the decency to post with your main.
And reg. covert ops frigs, I do believe that they'll enter the game after the next patch, which should be about the same time (maybe a tad later) the cloaking devices will enter.

Im not looking for an argument yet you guys are. Let me re-iterate my opinion. I like the idea of buying body parts i dont like the way its being handled. And also remember those people who dont want to team up. Some people are trying to do this game on their own.

For some one working on their own its abit hard to get enough cash to buy or some times like my self enough time to get what I need. I make money by building and selling things some times it takes ages for my things to sell.
Maybe a mission based way of getting the parts. Like when we could kill blood raiders to get some of them. But that didnt last long enough for me to even get ago at it.
They say they are worryed about injecting too much money into the game buy buying the parts. If thats a problem then dont pay in money pay with just the limited run bpc's.

IMHO Its sucks donkeys. First it was a race issue, then in changed to a self profiting shambles. Brilliant idea to try and converge the races, but omfg did they mess it up (as usual).

I liked the idea at first... Untill i found out you had to gather up 1,000 of the things to be able to sell them. It's something for several CEO's of large corps to get together & accomlish. Alliances will be able to manage the task. Smaller corps or individuals won't benefit much from it.
I suppose "in the spirit of cooperation" & blah blah blah, but hey, I'll just hang on to them for 4 years, & they'll be worth billions b/c most will have been bought back. tralala
so is it fun to me? no.
Will it profit me? eventually, yes ;)
