sweet. i reckon the nano nerf is included in the 1.1 thing he talks about, where almost all player grievancesd are dealt with. lol yea as if. However, I still think EvE needs more and better tactical warning sounds.

Honest guys... isnt that the kid that was on you tube lagging at a fleet battle and breakign his pc and screaming like a maniac a couple of years back? You know the kid that was red with furty the one moment and singing with triumph the other to then sink in despair???
Any old timers should remember that ... it came with the start of node crashes and whatnot :D Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

thats probly why hes gone all carebear and is only focusing on pve content. Seriously CCP have a real problem, this is their mentality..
dev1 "The players are unhappy and want some major issues balanced!" dev2 "but we tried and every1 just screams at us!" dev1 "hmm yeah..i know! Rather than really keep at it and try to figure this one out, lets not bother.." dev2 "..but what will we do for the expansion?" dev1 "hmm, lets just spoonfeed them some new feature, that ussually shuts em up" dev2 "the easy way out! I like it!"
CCP do a great job at EVE but one thing thats always been lackluster is their half-assed approach to balancing/re-balancing...
Ouch..harsh words to ccp even for me lol, but im really quite annoyed about not even a mention of any balancing in the works.. poudly annoying fc's since 2007

I didn't realize that proving one possessed certain skills was such a HUGE problem in Eve that it required the devs to create an entirely new system for it (certificates). ---- Train more. Whine less.

Provisionally called Midas, our winter expansion focuses on the industrial side of the game. The "nano-nerf" may be introduced sooner than that.

Certificates sound interesting.
As for all the chicken littles complaining about a PvE/indy/Market patch coming OH NOES! Every freeking patch for EVE since forever has been PvP stuff. The reaosn they are examining Indy/Pve/Market side is because it's been NEGLECTED for so damn long I'm guessing.

There goes your theory that CCP came to their senses and decided to repeal the nano nerf until they come up with some decent ideas BiggesT.

No, it just proves what ccp has been doing for a long while now...Supporting their majority money making customer base. They have already stated publicly that Eve has moved beyond a pvp only game. This is a good move on their part.
If they ignore the majority of the game that makes them money and only listen to the few percent of dip-shit pirates in rancer wanting L4 missions nerfed to bring them more targets, then they will only take a hit in the pocket book when folks quit.

So the sheeple get the game that ccp think the sheeple want.
As long as there are sheeple about the pirates will keep on having a fun time, so it kinda works.

What EVE industry & economy is missing is brands. Corp A produces thoraxes just like Corp B and there is no difference between the both. Neither is there a cost reduction with large scale production or a break-even-point.
If Corp A could (through BPO research) produce a Thorax with 10 more PG but 20 points reduced cap capacity or 10 m/s more but 100 less armor or something AND brand it "Corp A Thorax" while Corp B sells "Corp B Thorax" which have 100 pts more armor with 10 m/s less speed, that would be a true expansion; effecting both PvE and PvP.
- "The new 'Goonswarm Medium Pulse Laser' is out, now with +2% RoF (at a cost of increased cap)" - "Reikoku just announces its new 'Reikoku Vagabond' now faster than any out there with its new engine giving +15 m/s at reduced shields"
PvP would be much more fun with tons of different niche setups.

Customizable builds/BPOs would be awesome, but somehow I think the Database Hamsters Union would go on strike if the idea was voiced officially :)
The speed change patch is a balancing patch, so not in the regular schedule of patches, but an additional one.
As stated EMP 1.1 is addressing issues with the EMP patch as well as general grievances with game/UI and the winter patch is industrial in nature.

something that would really be awsome wold be new rigs thats shit expensive and like new turret rig and new missile rig that adds 1 turret/missile mount. with like reduced shield on missile and reduced armor on the turret.
and another idea that would be hard to balance, and possible would ruin the game is if you could add 2rigs of same type only, but then have no limit to how many other different rigs, like 2ccc rigs and 2trimarks for example. with every rig decreasing grid or cpu with 2% or have it like first rig decreases 1%, second 2%, third 3or4. fourth would reduce 5or8 % of cpu since theres no cpu%increase rigs available as there is to grid

No, that kid is not me. I was quite a bit older than that kid when the video came out, and while I may still occasionally curse my computers I tend to treat my hardware better than that.

Chunky? Alright, I am not the most svelte of individuals, but chunky? And as for being hesitant, I would invite you to get interviewed by one of the most-read MMO websites and be a bubbling brook of informative conversation without a single stumble or hickup. We're developers, not actors.
And serious issues get addressed in media interviews when the interviewer asks about them or we have meaningful information about them. For "meaningful" in this case read "actual content not idle speculation". That is why nothing specific was mentioned about the content of Midas. It is all still on the drawing board (and the first person to whine about why it's not on that %*º#ing drawing board section of the website will get podded until they have negative skillpoints. Srsly.)

Crikey! Look at that, a rare swallowtailed dev spotting, right here in the ol' S&M forest... er, forums. And boy, this one's a beaut! Just look at that plumage! He's a big fella too, almost a little chunky! (j/k, don't pod me ).
In all seriousness, it is nice to see a dev around here. It'd be even nicer to see devs share their thoughts on the recon thread, the project+tempest thread, etc. Even if you think we're completely out of line and capless projectiles wtfpwn noobs, it'd be nice to hear it rather than be left in the dark guessing, haha.
