Edited by: Wil Smithx on 28/08/2008 12:19:31 It takes a fair time and a lot of isk to get the skills to make ships and equipment of T1 level and even longer once you start needing T2 so I would say just buy it.
People who build ships tend to only build ships if you get what I mean.
Edit: I guess I should add, if you're a miner, then turning your minerals into stuff to sell is more profitable than just selling. But this is the industrial route in eve and any combat training you do will slow down your advance in industry and visa versa. This is why a lot of people have 2 characters for eve.

What I'd like to add is: even though you may be a combat orientated character, it MAY be benifitcial to you to learn to build your own gear. If you are in a region of space where the prices are high and supplies of ships/modules is low, then you can save money even with poor Industry skills.
Or sell your stuff at undercut prices and still make a profit.

Depends. The way we usually do it is by getting the BPC and mats to the relevant pos and then have whoever in the corp is online and has the highest production skills start the job. That way everyone in the corp gets pretty good yields from their minerals.
I wouldn't bother with unless you're in a corp with it's own building facilities and access to a good industrial charracter.

If you can dedicate 3 weeks for getting production efficiency to V then it can be worth it to make your own modules. I have an alt setup to do just that to minimize my trips to high sec.
Also its a great way to never run out of ammo.
Always collect and salvage your wrecks - then reprocess - then use mins to make ammo/mods/ships.
Tech 2 production is far more intensive (from a ground up perspective) - and um yeah, you're going to need friends for that profession - unless you don't want to make them from scratch. __________________________________________________ Sup brosef!
