Hello there, i am running an Alienware 2.8ghz with 1024mb ddr memory and a Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro Graphics Card.
When docking a station or indeed sometimes just sitting in the station, my eve client crashes. Its happening more and more often, sometimes i just log back in and instant crash again. It is driving me nuts! I understand that Eve may have certain problems with Mobility Radeon graphic cards, but all it says is to get the latest drivers from the manufacturer which i have done. I have tried the obvious stuff like de-selecting 'load station enviroment' etc but to no avail. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot in advance for any help.

You might need to install the catalyst drivers and do not even force the anisotropy filtering at 16x, just leave at application preference in direct3d. It's known to cause the crashes, it also happens on older radeons.

Ask alienware if you can swap out your ATI for a Nvidia. Just tell them you were young and foolish. Thats about the only advice I can give you on your computer because its nice otherwise.
I dont know any workarounds for mobility cards. Try turning off some of the peformance features like FSAA or set it at 4x. Turn off some shader renderers or something. Never used one I dont know what kinda configurations it lets you change.

Hi. Ok thanks for your replies but im afraid to no avail Those settings are already in place when i checked on everything. This really is a nuisance, have crashed a daozen times in the last 5 minutes , as soon as i try to open corp hangar or anything like that in the station. Everything just freezes then about 12 Connection Lost pop ups come streaming through the screen. I am at the end of my tether with this, on my 3rd set of graphics drivers and still no joy. Any other suggestions please anyone? Currently looking to invest in Tech2 BPOs, contact me if you have any for sale! |

I use to get the same thing with an Nvidia ti4200, if i stayed docked long enough it would happen everysingle time. I could stop it by turning the "station environment" off under the general tab. You cant see ur ship in station but it was better than crashing every time i docked.
Since switching to a 9800pro ive had zero problems.
