Well, I downloaded the EVE patch through the auto-loader. After the install I got an error message, saying that resdungeons crc test did not match (or something very close to this), as well as telling me to download the full build. Whenever I now start EVE, I get an error message with the following error message:
Now, redownloading the client is not a problem, just think that this should not have happened. But still better than a boot.ini problem. (*knocks on wood* no reboot yet)

Edited by: Azuse on 02/09/2008 23:44:05 Edited by: Azuse on 02/09/2008 23:43:55 Actually this is not new, it was a problem in the past build of the client, though it only effected afew people. The good news is the installer's self-contained so its def not your pc, bad new is if you get the error trying to force it buggers your pc up.
Running the cmd box at elevated lvl (i.e. admin) and using the "sfc /scannow" (no ") windows will scan and attempt to repair corrupted system files. I'm willing to be it'll find one it can't after eve's done this though (reinstalling the os will sort them, but trying to install eve again will only bring them back). It should dump ever action in the windows logs folder, but alas, eve bolloxed my pc up so badly, both before and after a reinstall, it's so corrupt it doesn't generate the log thus i cannot tell which system files it's breaking/broke again.
EDIT: vista x64 btw. |
