Ok.. download and ran the patch. Now Eve will not load. I get the splash screen and that is it.
Now what? |

Originally by: CCP Lingorm Please try clearing your cache and log in again.

This may be a stupid question.. how do you clear the cache. I am running XP home.
for the record.. Eve will not even start so i cannot even login let alone get to a station loading attempt.
I tried restarting the computer.. no luck. |

Originally by: CCP Lingorm You can find the Cache in the following location in Windows XP
c:\documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\<a really weird foldername>
Inside the really weird folder is a folder called Cache, rename it to cache.old (or similar) and try restarting your client.
The Local Settings and Application Data folders are hidden so you will have to tell windows to let you see them.
Found location but there are no files in the Dir to rename

Originally by: CCP Lingorm OK, you will have to file a petition (via the website) and see if the technical GM's can help.
I would suggest starting LogServer and capturing a log of the client as it fails to start and sending that in with the petition.
Sorry i could not be more help.
LogServer?

Edited by: KyShea on 03/09/2008 02:01:47 Interesting thing here. Sent ServerLog. But to note.
I am running 3 apps of Eve. Each one to it's own Dir. I first updated my second copy (C:\Program Files\EVE2) and tried to run Eve2 before updating my other Apps.
Just for curiosity, i did my first App (C:\Program Files\EVE)
And the update worked but said i would have to restart computer to complete.
Restarted computer and attempted to run App2. Worked with all new settings due to the Dir renaming. Closed App and reset my file Dir names. Restarted Eve2 and it worked with previous settings.
Original Eve worked. Have yet to update my third Eve App.
See if that helps anyone fix the problem or at least for the Devs to understand the issues.
