I just picked up this lvl 3 mission as my first lvl 3 mission, I checked out Eve-Survival and it wasn't listed so I assume that this is one of the new missions.
Aside from the low rewards and very short reward time, which I've read is due to not enough data to normalize the rewards/time, I came across something that kinda threw me off.
Battleships. 2 of them.
I was under the impression that Lvl 3's did not contain BS's. They would not have been too bad, doable in a Myrmidon one on one, but coupled with a couple elite frigs that webbed, along with the host of other destroyers, cruisers, etc. it was quite a load to handle.
I'm in the process of re-arming now and patching up, as I only have those 2 BS's left to complete the mission, which I expect to finish off now that their deathly compliment is gone, but is that normal?

Pretty sure there are one or more lvl 3's before this last patch with BS's in them. A bit hard to do for a struggling lvl 3 pilot but they are there.
If you can talk CCP into it.... You can have these new lvl'4's with no BS's that are being reported and we will take this lvl 3 into the lvl 4 world ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Relationships are ours to make; we define them, day by day, by who we choose to love and how we choose to love them. And, by these choices, define ourselves. Richard N. Patterson |

Thanks for the info.
They fell to the onslaught of drones, but it just caught me by surprise when I warped in to kill a terrorist and a BS popped in along with his war host. The 2nd BS decided to drop in as I was finishing off a Cruiser before starting in on the 1st BS.
It took a few get-the-heck-out-dodge warps to whittle down that main force, especially with webbers, but done all the same in the end.

It isn't a really a new mission. They just re-flagged the Faction Warefare Agent missions to be avaiable to all agents of that faction who give out kill missions. Faction Warafre missions were designed to be run in gangs, with the risk factor generally one level higher than the mission level.

A BS in a lvl3? Awesome, means good bounties.

There are BSs in some lvl 3 missions - ganza bonus room, new frontiers, * strike _____________ I don't care what is nerfed, as long as it's not my "undock" button. |

The BS's were 250k bounties. Not sure what lvl 4 BS's bounties go for, but it was nice to see. Pulled in near 2m total in bounties on that mission. Far cry from the 500k max I was getting in lvl 2's.

L4 BS can be as high as 1.6million although the average is probably around 700k. We also get 250k BS and they are easy -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

Actually, that isn't the case: This is a new agent mission, and not in any way a FW mission. Cheers. :)

There's a few lvl3's that have always had the chance to spawn a BS, they just happened so rarely, no one really noticed.
You should have the skills to kill a few BS if your doing lvl3's. Support skills are always needed. Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

Yeah, they were easy enough, even with 2 of them, once I got rid of all the other ships. It was very dicey with all the ships on the board, especially the webbers preventing me from getting any kind of transversal going. I had to warp out twice to get em all down.

The first time I encountered a BS, I almost freaked out :)
Enjoy the surprise factor since you'll get used to tanking 15 BS's +support in lvl4's. Kinda loses its luster after a while :)

I hit this last night for the first time, also like my 2nd lvl 3 mission. I was a little surprised by the BS's. Running in a full passive cyclone the only problem I had was with the damn webber. 425's not hitting much, heavy missle crap dmg, bla bla bla. Once I took him out the rest of the area was pretty simple including the intial BS. The 2nd one spawns after the terrorist is killed, I dont recall seeing it initially. I dont mind them at all... 250k a kill plus one dropped an 800mm arty that I sold for like 600k so its all good.

It depends greatly on the quality of the battleship. 15 x 250K rats I can tank all day in my Dominix.... I usually go and cook dinner while my drones do their thing.
On the other hand, 15 x 1.5 million isk Centii Tyrants or Nephilim or whatever the top end rats are.... If I'm webbed scrammed (and -often- neuted) I'll be warping out in hull or buying a new ship.
Six of the top end BS are enough to give me a hard time (by which I mean 'make me turn on my second repper')... 10 of the top end rats and I have to overload one or both reppers, and probably also start to move to reduce incoming DPS and break the rats from their optimal orbits.
Thankfully you only encounter those kind of spawns in exploration complexes or bonus rooms on L4s.

Think of it like this, in terms of football - a team gets promoted to the Premier League (Stoke City for example). Some games will be easy, some doable, some hard, some nigh on impossible. This season Stoke will have their hands full picking the ball up out of the back of the net... similar to someone who has just started out on the next level up of missions. CCP have just made EVE more like football. Hindsight is a wonderful ally, problem is, the chap's always late... |

THAT is the best description of mission difficulty I've ever read. \o/

You want battleships in a Level III? The final room in the final part of "Kidnapper's Strike" will test your mettle. 10 Battleships if Eve-Survival is right.
You don't need to take them out to complete the mission, but will certainly get your heart pounding if you're a Level III runner.

I got this mission yesterday while I was flying my Dominix. I cleared out the first room and tried the acceleration gate. For some reason they decided that you can't take battleships into the second room. Kind of inconvenient since I hadn't bothered training battlecruisers and I don't think my Vexor (which tanks about 130 dps) can handle the second room.
Well, I'm currently picking up the skills for a Drake and should still be able to finish the mission before it expires but it would have been nice if the agent had told me in advance that I wouldn't be able to use a battleship in an L3 mission.

I remember when I moved from L3 to L4 missions in my domi, my skills were terrible... and the first L4 mission I got was 'the assault'. Holy **** I was physically TERRIFIED when I warped in and saw about 15 BS's on grid.
I do believe it took me about a week to finish that one mission and I lost at least two domi's trying to figure it out.
I am so jaded now :(

Most of the new missions restrict the ship sizes. Level 3s are up to BC, level 2s Cruisers, and level 1s destroyers. I think a lot of the new missions like this one are designed to either need gangs or tech 2 ships.
