Hi,
I just reached level 4 missions and I am anticipating that they will be much harder than anything previous, my query is do you get any prior warning that enemy ships will have warp scramblers? I have no idea I could survive such a mission without being able to dock to station to recover. I only done 1 mission that I was warp scrambled by drones but it was level 3 I think and it was such a long time ago I never took any notice to see if it warned you.
Thanks

You get no warning untill the little icon in overview that indicates you are warp scrambled.
I won't like it as often it can ruin the fun... but there are certain websites that bive an idea of what to expect in a mission.
You will only find spider drones and some of the frigs scramble. Just deal with them first and have a set of light drones for dealing with the scramming frigs.

If in doubt kill anything that looks remotely like a scrambling frigate first.
Only frigate sized rats scramble.
Spider drones do not scramble. They do however web you so that you're almost immobile. If your tank relies on mobility to keep range this may be a very bad thing.
NB - out of a spawn of, say 4 Angel Vipers, only one or two will scramble you - the chance is random. They also don't cycle the effect on and off. It appears that the effect checks only once when they first get in range. This means that you can choose the individual rats that are scrambling you to pick off first. Check your overview for the little icons.

Always always always kill in this order:
- frigates - cruisers - BC - BS - whatever else
Be wary of missions that only spawn with 3 of one type and a 4th 'differently' named version. The odd ball when killed, usually spawns in a new wave.
Using this as your approach, you shouldn't be dying to anything as you will never be warp scrambled (unless you get alpha'ed lol) Man goes to the doc, with a strawberry growing out of his head. Doc says "I'll give you some cream to put on it." |

The warning is there on the old Mordu's mission and one mission against Caldari, from what I remember... but I'd say 90% of the missions have web/scramblers. You'll learn to recognize them pretty soon if you read up. For Serpentis anything Frigate sized named Guardian should be top priority, for example. |

I disagree with that order... a lot of it depends on how you play and what you fly. Frigs generally first because they can stop you getting out...
If you fly a cruise raven and hence try and keep them at range, the order above might work since the battleships are least able to close to thier optimal..
Hoewever I fly a Domi / brick, which means I sit there like a rock and kill them as they orbit me. Therefore the key is to get the DPS down as quick as possible. Thus: - Frigs (only the ones that I know scramble) - Battlecruisers (Big sig radius and not much hitpoints. Pop in 2-3 salvos) - Battleships - Anything else.
In any case, read up on Eve-Survival. It works on the in-game-browser, so it's possible to read up before you warp in (diminishes the true excitement of learning though)
