No, apparently, Siri is NOT on the iPad3. IDK why Apple chose not to include it. It utilizes the internet connection (Wifi or Cellular) to get data, So, maybe that has something to do with it.
Siri, is, in fact, in Beta testing still; may have to be until its server data is robust enough... IDK. If EvE WiS is Space Barbie, then I'm built like a Ken Doll:

I could've been honest and told her to take it back but I did what most men would do, smile and say it was just what I wanted.
Bottom line, I use it to play Ascendency at work and f**k all else.
Still think tablets are a solution looking for a problem. Solution looking for a problem? heh, don't know if I agree with you but take the asus transformer for example, that can be pretty much everything in one piece of equipment. Wish it came with 3g/4g though.
But can it make toast? |

I got the blackberry playbook and am loving that. honestly, for the price and capability I have no idea why people buy the kindle fire which has a similar price point. I have always been hesitant about jumping into the IOS ecosystem and would rather stay PC so am hoping that android/blackberry can keep coming up with a popular alternative to keep a competing ecosystem alive for the rest of us. |

Yeah, part of it voice dictating I was told had been included. But you got a new iOS coming out and it may be then. Some people said it has to do with the fact that SIRI was never that great to begin with and often you need your face at the mic? And with a pad it becomes difficult, also would you ask SIRI on your pad where nearest pizza place is with a pad? Would have to google it but read an article about why it was not needed and another saying it will come when ready.

NightmareX wrote:. . .There is no way for you to use an iPad or iPhone or any other iOS devices without using the crappy program just called iTunes. . . ..
This is not correct.
You no longer need to use iTunes for anything on iPad or iPhone, it's all on the cloud now, updates, backups, everything. Much more convenient, and all your devices are properly synced with each other with no effort now.
I am a PC die hard, but. . . I love my iPad and couldn't think about living without it now.
I mainly use it for writing, primarily screenplays and novels. Out of all my laptops of all sizes and shapes and multiple netbooks, none of them compare to the immediacy of typing out important ideas at the spur of the moment, instant on-- no waiting for boot up or wake up, no balancing the device on my knee or something to type and find a good screen angle-- I just hold it in one hand or place it down anywhere.
I got the bluetooth keyboard , but after a while just left it behind, i prefer the simplicity of typing on the on screen keyboard. . . and btw for comparison, the android tablets are terrible for writing esp with onscreen keyboards. The screens are too damn small in one dimension, the 16/9 displays meant for movie watching are terrible for writing. IMO, the iPad is still better than the Samsung galaxy options out there, and ya I tried them.
Thankfully you don't need to use iTunes anymore, but still I don't particularly love being corralled inside iOS. But that's what win8 tablets will be for once they come out:)

so the new iPad confirmed to not support 4g where I live, my infrastructure is too advance and Apple don't care, America is always primary market. So... taking that into consideration, is the iPad 3 worth it knowing I wont be benefiting from a net? I will probably still pick it up but I admit to be a bit disappointed. |

The new iPad rocks. I've only got the original to compare it to, but I LOVE it.
Haters gon hate... That's their problem.
Just wish I could play REAL games on it. EVE would be awesome, X3, SOMETHING!

I bought an iPad 2 a week or two before the 3rd gen one was released... hadn't heard anything about the 3rd one at all, so didn't even know it was coming. but not to despair, once my mom heard about that, she suggested she buy my iPad2 and I get the new version, which is very okay with me.
Only problem is... it's completely sold out in all of Stockholm (I'm aiming for the 32gb Wifi only version).
as for why iPad rather than any of the android (or other) tablets? beacuse if I get an ipad, I know that all apps that are sold for it will work on it. I can't count the number of times my little brother has suggested I get an app for my android phone, only to find that it wont work, or is nigh unplayable because my HTC Hero isn't strong enough. besides, my needs aren't exactly advanced anymore. WELL, IT'S DOUBLE THE COST OF A PSVITA, AND IT HAS 40% OF THE GRAPHICS CAPABILITY.
Why isn't there a button to turn all caps into lower case after the fact? |

And yet, even though the ipad isn't strictly a gaming platform... It has more games than the PSVita. And you can do other non-gaming stuff on it as well. In short, my ipad is more useful to me than my psvita. Everyone vs. Everyone Online

an iPad is a computer, the psvita is a failed gaming console, I fail to make the comparison. |
