The 4 dead civilizations, the Yan Jung, Sleepers, Talocan and Taklheim (sp)... what were they?
Were they just early human civilizations that died out after the collapse or are they alien civilizations that we discovered the ruins of after arriving here in New Eden. All info or location/links to the info would be appreciated. ------------------------ CEO Walks Forever Trade Inc

Originally by: Theodicy We cannot sit idly while they selfishly interfere with the history that is yours to decide, no matter how destructive, or how often you wish to repeat it.
Given the dates, the thousands of years since the collapse of the EVE gate, and the relatively short history we know regarding the empires one could assume that Empires in New Eden have risen and fallen in cycles since the collapse. The Jovians seem to have persevered better than others, but they certainly haven't been progressing technologically uninterrupted since they arrived in the cluster. They likely didn't come to power swiftly, perhaps not even on the first cycle. They have also suffered several collapses in their time, much like the other old empires, the difference being that they managed to pull through and recover some of their past. Hence:
Originally by: Heaven The Heaven constellation was the home of the First and Second Jovian Empires, both larger and grander than their current Third Empire.
I would imagine then, that the Yan Jung and company were one of the previous sets of empires in the "cycle of history" probably the one just before our rise to power.

I think what probably happened was that these were basically provisional groups formed from the remnants of terran governments, the survivors of the gate crash. However, they were too few, and they were unable to save themselves, eventually dying out, or losing their technology. __________________________________________________ |

The Takhmal were according to the Amarr cosmos mission briefings, once part of the Amarr Empire, (I think it was before they went into space. or at least before going to other star systems, so looks like the Takhmal were also on the original planet (Athra), along with the Udorians and Khanid) There was some kind of split and the Takhmal either left or were exiled, to the constellation of Araz, where at some point they died out.
I think it was a religious split. There are Takhmal statues of "God", or "their god" or "our god" which apparently cause great offence, such that Theology Council agents wish to have any Takhmal artifacts, so they can destroy them.

Personally I think Yan Jung, Sleepers, Talocan and Taklheim all merged into the Enheduanni and then went to war with the Jove. Which cuased the Jove gates to get shut. ____ Telltale sign of their presence is non-linear teleportation (www.eve-online.com/races/theodicy/Theodicy_All.pdf)

IMO what happened happened is what is happening now the previous empires went to war with each other. The sleepers won the wars and destroyed the remaining empires. (except for some reason the jove, who may have not gotten involved in the war, considering there current hands off approach it wouldnt be surprising) All this was as now bought on by the enheduanni for reasons we cannot comprehend, the sleepers were 'ascended' en masse and bought into the enheduanni fold. This belief comes from the fact that the enheduanni use sleepers as weapons and tools currently.
The only question remaining is will the pod-pilot break the cycle? or will this jovian attempt at saving the galaxy fail? if the latter who will win the war?

They weren't called Sleepers because they used sleeper agents/mind programming/etc. They were called Sleepers because of their mastery of cryotechnology, virtual reality and neural interfacing. ______________________________________________ -My respect can not be won, only lost. Holy crap I didn't even see this forum .
I think they were just past empires and whatnot, or maybe they're minor ethnic groups.

The Jovian remained motionless for a moment, as if to consider whether or not to tell her. ôI know that it was the EnheduanniÆs creation.ö Viola was trying to keep her voice steady despite the shivers. ôHow did they start it? Was it because of the Elders that were brought here?ö ôThey activated a sleeper agent,ö Grious answered. -theodicy
ôTheir mastery of genetic engineering unlocked the precise workings of the human brain,ö he answered, manipulating a datapad as he walked back towards the ramp. ôThey can create minds with memories and skills burned into their medial temporal lobe, and set mnemonic devices to trigger them.ö - theodicy
alright you can take it to mean one of two things sleeper as in the fear of cold-war agents, or sleeper as in the race with advanced genetic's knowledge. like i said at the beginning its my opinion.

Gabrialle if you think the Sleepers and Enheduanni are linked you might find this an intresting read http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=734344 ____ Telltale sign of their presence is non-linear teleportation (www.eve-online.com/races/theodicy/Theodicy_All.pdf)

I actually think i read this awhile ago however there do seem to be quite a few holes in the posters statements as well as the statements made by the enheduanni seem to be manipulation.
For example the implication in the first posted series of quotes implies that the speaker is on the side of the minmatar, however later in the story the speaker states that the minmatar were not meant to 'fall that fast' implying that they were meant to fall, eventually.
Thus this implies that all statements made by the enheduanni should be taken as subtle coercion not a statement of true intent. We can i feel only guess as i have done before now as to the true intent of the enheduanni.

Edited by: Pottsey on 17/09/2008 14:27:20 Gabrialle said ôspeaker states that the minmatar were not meant to 'fall that fast' implying that they were meant to fall, eventually.ö ThatÆs not how I read it. Going by the rest of their comments saying 'fall that fast' just means they expected them to fall slowly, not that they wanted to them to fall.
ItÆs far more likely to imply they expected the Minmatar to fall slowly and came up with some plans to save them based on a slow fall. When they fall far faster then expected all the slow plans failed. So they quickly got the Jove involved to reset the balance. Anyway if the bloodlines I have been reading are correct the Jove are far more linked to the Minmatar then most people realise. The more I learn about the Jove the more I think all there statments should be taken as coercion.

Has any one ever considered the possibility that the Jovians opened the eve gate? That the Jovians closed the eve gate? That the number of humanity that were seperated here have been systematically divided into four controllable groups? That the Jovians have not been spared by past empires, but that they have used various ones to keep others controllable? I like the few Jovians I have met, but I wonder at times. I have known many people suffering from incurable illness and conditions as the Jove do. After a period of time, the sickness gets into the mind and the emotions. Will Minmatar, Galente, Amarr, and Caldari also be wondered about an eon from now?
As I said, I like the Jovians I have met, I wish them well. But my mind wanders strange paths when I ponder Jove.

i think perhaps the jove managed to survive the gate collapse and had the human technology of the time perhaps they maintain records and what not of the old earth empire.
