What I for hell dont understand is why CCP goes so soft on Macro Miners... The SAME Macro Miners me and a group of legit miners have been continusly petitioning are STILL in this system... The ice-prices and ore prices have been really crashing latley (especiouly ice..)
Macroers have the ability to totally ruin the economy in a mmorpg. A totally ruined economy can kill a mmorpg. Yes in Eve the market is totally player-driven - Sadly in part its also Macroer-driven...
I know that CCP cant come here and post what they will do against Macros, BUT it would be nice if they posted and just said: Yes we know about it and we ARE working on a solution !
CCP managed to get the isk-seller spam down - Its much better than it used to be 2 years ago.
PLEASE do something against Macroers too !! Thankyou a concerned Eve-Player Greetings Belmarduk CCP Please give us casual players a Skill-Queue !

What proof do you offer than they are in fact macroing? Do you know what that really means?
There is no reason to gimp players that can run 5 accounts at once. It's good for CCP and EVE in general. (more money)
As long as they aren't doing RMT with the isk, there is nothing wrong here.
Remember kids, FARMING isn't against the rules. Botting and RMT are. Prove one of the latter and they will be banned in a hurry. ______________________________________________ Goon FC(08/12/06):"its a trap" "that thing is fully operational" |

CCP also doesn't hit them immediately, instead they let the transactions start to take place so they can hit the entire ring AND those that buy it.
Then ISK roll backs for buyers and bans for dozens to hundreds of related accounts at a time.
Every suspected macro I have petitioned has disappeared in 2-3 weeks, never to be seen again. -------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Darth Vaders on 10/09/2008 18:13:27 In a system i am currently there are certain players practicaly 23 hours/7 days mining in Hulks. And i have petitioned the case. I got reply that they will look into it and the petition was closed. They are still there mining.
On one side of course this kind of constant mining offers big sums of cheap minerals in the market and to be honest mining is dull so it is good there are these macros that are doing it. On the other hand i understand that if someone likes to mine ,after all it's a different game approach that one can have, the mining business is ruined for the miner player and that is sad. As a side note i have a hulk but i never mine because i need to spend hours to do it and i need my second account to haul and with the way the prices have been set due to the macroers it is practicaly meaningless for me. So i never mine i make money through all kinds of other stuff BUT mining.
And is easy to understand if someone is a bot/macro. If he is on 23 hours per day it probably macro. One can run 5 accounts the same time but can't be totally sleepless for 2 months in a row |

1. Farming is not against the rules and I can live with that. Macroing IS against the rules ! 2. Those are definatley Macro Miners - A group of us in that system have been observing them for MONTHS now.We (the legimat miners in that system got so ****ed off about the whole thing that we have a own channel and we KNOW that these ships are macros ! 3. What the hell do you think they do with their "earned" isk ? Buy all exotic dancers they can find to have the biggest collection of exotic dancers in the game ?????? 4. There is a BIG difference between someone who is sitting infront of the computer or computers handling 5 accounts and a MACRO running the account(s) !!!! 5. These people are handling their accounts 23/7 ????? This is verified by our group - We kept a protocol a while ! Greetings Belmarduk

Its never been as bad as in the last few months - Sticking your head into the sand WILL destroy the economy.
As to the opinion about how great it is that things are cheaper - BULLSHIT If you want a ruined economy through MM so be it - I and most players dont. Many people live off mining (I dont - I mine as a sideline ice sometimes - its not my main income - But thats beside the point) Many newer players earn their first isk through mining - Many people specialise in mining. Whats the point in competing against MM ffs ??
You dont believe me that macroers can completly kill a mmorpg ? Go and look at the state of Ultima Online... EA stuck their head into the sand for years inspite that the community BEGGED them to do something about it.Now the game is dead and the economy only consists of a few scripters and dupers...

My alt got mistaken for a macro miner once just because I didn't feel like chatting or accepting a chat request.
If something of note pops up in local chat I'd reply but other than that I just stay quiet and hammer asteroids.
I never go afk and if I do (bio break) I dock 1st. I'm mad paranoid about being afk even for 2min in open space

The problem of macro miners/mission runners/courier runners/whatever would not exist today if "normal" subscribed players would not buy isk from these sources to begin with. No buyers, no business. Maybe some of those people are not sure or have no idea how much they are damaging the economy, maybe CCP could make it more obvious somehow that buying isk this way is illegal? Adding text at the bottom of the screen on the character select menu? Add a warning from Aura in the tutorial? Would that maybe backfire and instead make people aware that buying isk on the internet is possible? I'm no expert on this matter, just wanted to throw my 2 isk in.
And yeah, and the timecode bazaar forum is crawling with those macroers trying to get extra gametime, check those names! |

Nyoro: I dont think its only from that country - Its from many countries.
Gealbhan: There is a difference between someone not answering or mining 23/7 for months. I myself when I mine ice start the lasers and about 35 min later the lasers deactivate when my cargo is full. This is fine imo as it is gamemechanics. When the iceprices still were great one made 2-3 mio per run aka about 5 mio an hour (IF I catch the time exactly) - I invested massive time into skills and massive isk into being able to mine like that. 5 mio an hour is nothing compared to other ways of making isk.
Fact is the ship just stands there if I dont fly back to station and unload and fly back. With MM the ships fly back and forth unattended 23/7........... Thats a BIG difference also one is legal the other isnt. Greetings Belmarduk CCP Please give us casual players a Skill-Queue !

Names, fitting, behaviour, mining 23/7 for weeks without a break. If all things sum up its a very high chance its a Macro. One kind of Behaviour for example: Try bumping a MM away from the roid..... Go and try it out... Greetings Belmarduk CCP Please give us casual players a Skill-Queue !

Oh ok...have another:
Two characters consisting of a PVP Gallente character with a large wide array of skills for small, medium, large and capital ships along with a Gallente Industrial based character with heavy skills in industry, research, hauling and also a good array of combat skills, aswell as exploration and scanning.
These two characters combined will give you access to every aspect of the EVE game, and also work very well in unison.
The assets on the characters include a wide array of named and rare items, most of them gathered right in Jita, 16+ billion worth of isk, 2 x Carriers, 1 x Dreadnought, 1 x Rorqual, 1 x Freighter, all of these ships are of course fully equipped (except for Freighter of course). Along with this a large amount of different ships and assets spread mostly over empire space, but a few assets are also present in 0.0 areas. Furthermore 3 x freighter bpos, along with capital module bpos plus a HUGE selection of bpcs do also follow the characters.
The PVP character also comes with a Federation Navy Megathron, which has been fully equipped with relevant faction modules, and can thus be considered a collectors ship in some sense.
Both characters have flawless reputations and have both functioned as highlevel characters in promenous corporations, with absolutely no history of scamming or anything in that sense at any time in the game. Furthermore no warnings have been given to any of the characters from CCP at any time.
The characters are currently present in empire space along with their wide selection of jumpclones, which also exist in empire space.
My reason for selling these characters is lack of time to play the game, so grab this chance to get some superb characters which will serve you very well.

The willingness to cheat and exploit is a lot higher in PvP based games like Eve than in pure PvE games. This includes macroing / Isk buying and selling / renting out your 0.0 space to RMT farmers and many other activities. Now, I'm going to expect proof or stfu threads right after, but it's simply an observation I have made while playing various PvP and PvE based MMOG's over the past 5 years.
The CCP founders used to be notorious griefers in UO, so I expect them to have at least a "heart" for the exploiters out there. This would at least partially explain their reluctance to go against the various RMT farmers and other exploiters in game.
