Edited by: No seriously on 12/09/2008 09:23:22 What do you do while running missions?
I've been rewatching Seinfeld, Home Movies, Flight of the Conchords, and The Office (American version right now, haven't watched the UK version past the first season, though I enjoyed it, I don't think I "got" the British culture specific jokes).

Various stuff. In no particular order:
. Watch Local/Militia in case any WTs are around . Chat with corpmates/friends in-game . Rubik's cubes (3x3,4x4,5x5) - it's just a phase I'm going through, honest ;-) . Read occasionally . Read the EO forums or check Eve survival for new mission reports . Of course, through all this I keep one eye on the mission for unexpected stuff - drones wandering off and attacking triggers, for example.

No, just using the right ship and setup to allow easy AFKing, if the need arises.

There's no need for macros in missions. Dominix is a great choice for AFK missioning.

oh shi... ah yes, I mostly ask help from my corpmates in the chat. The missions are so hard, that we always need gangs so that at least one comes out alive.

Wait, nobody said, "I piss and moan in local about Ninja Salvagers coming in and salvaging all of my wrecks"?

Not everybody falls into such a neat pigeon-hole. Some people have never been ninja'd, some people have been ninja'd too infrequently for it to be an issue, some people accept it as a fact of life, and some people are extremely vocal about it. Since the vocal ones are the ... well ... vocal ones, they are the ones who get noticed. I like to think that they are in the minority. I can't remember the last "I DIDN'T GET NINJA'D AT ALL TODAY!! CCP FIX IT!!" thread ;-)
I'll let you try and guess which of the above applies to me ;-)

Do you want that in ISK, or Carebear Tears? (Second question: which one do you think you just paid me in?)

You can make a LOT if you know what to scan for and got your BM's setup. For an example, yesterday evening I scanned down a Marauder just finishing his mission. He's already done all the work and gathered all the wrecks in one place, and I quickly salvaged them for ~14m ISK in rig components. It'd taken me about 5 minutes to scan him down, and around 5 to salvage it all too.
Ha was.... upset... especially since I convo'd him and told what I got
Admittedly this is one of my best ever, but ninja salvaging is more profitable than mission running itself once you know how. It does take a bit more skill though...

I control 2 BSs a salvager and sometimes a RR for certain missions. Not much time for anything else while shooting, salvaging, oogling new gears, reading blue print material lists and checking days of training to fly things I want on all my characters.

I don't really have time to watch stuff. Marauder damage tends to rip through missions so you constantly gotta push gun buttons. Missions rarely take 10-15mins unless it's the long ones like AE.

Ninjas amuse me, sometimes they leave cans with CRY MOAR or something, but as soon as they show up in my mission I just shrug and start shooting any wrecks that I don't have salvaging (I mission in a marauder with 2 tractors and a salvager)

But don't get me wrong. I would AFK Domi occasionally if I could. Maybe. But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

lol qft.
Nothing like watching a ninja salvager slowboat it all the way to a wreck only to blow it up as soon as they get to within 3000m of it..

-watch local for potential hostiles -watch local for probable hostiles -watch local for certain hostiles -directional scan at frequent intervals for scan probes -if seemingly innocent (Mother Theresa, Santa Claus or even close relative) drops probe anywhere near me without a darn good reason, prepare to repel boarders (or run and hide) -remind myself that just because I am totally paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me
