I signed up for it a long time ago, long before the fanfest keynote. So when can I play the closed beta? Hockles |

I was looking forward to Dust but it seems, unless I missed something, that it is being released as a console only game. I don't have a console and I have been in Eve since its inception. I don't understand why the biggest leap in the Eve universe would be given to a different platform from the main game. After all, it is supposed to be the same universe and planets so why would I need two different platforms to play? This makes no sense to me at all... why would you create a great add on and say go buy a new platform? This seems to me to be an insult to all of us who have supported Eve for all these years. I want to play Dust but I won't buy a console to play one game... especially since that game is one I already support and have supported for 8 years.
Again, if I have missed something please let me know and I will gladly apologize for my rant but this concept makes me seriously unhappy.

Because EVE players are not it's target audience, you weren't really meant to play it.
On the upside however CCP teased at possibly making a PC version by pointing out the fact they put mouse and keyboard support in for the PS3 version.
But the whole point of DUST was for it to bring in a new community and new people from a different platform. The Drake is a Lie |

I don't know if we should perceive it in such a way. One of Playstation's selling points is the fact that you can plug hundreds of different USB devices into the console. It sounds to me like CCP is just trying to ease PC players into a new system by making mice and keyboards available to them on an unfamiliar console. |

One of the devs mentioned that they are using the Unreal engine which (supposedly) makes the system highly portable. They implied that porting to the PC would be theoretically easy. |

If you watched Fanfest:
In April 2012 the beta will open for all people who attended Fanfest.
Later on (possible June 2012) it will open up in steps for people who subscribed to the Beta.
