It seems to me that we are missing a tool for capital ships. We've got capital Railguns, Beam Lasers, and Artilery. We've got Blasters, Pulse Lasers, and Auto Cannons. We've got Citadel Torpedos. So where are the capital Heavy Assault Missiles? That is, were are the short range cap missiles. Torpedos are supposed to be a short range weapon, but Citadel aren't them.
It's kinda silly to fit autocannons on a Naglfar with long range launchers. Any chance we could get a short range missile laucher for capital ships? Or to avoid added skill training (long and short range guns use the same skill) could we get a short range version of the torpedos and keep the same laucher? Ones that have a shorter flight time and slower flight speed but higher damage? DPS goes up, range goes down.
Ok on second though maybe a short range missile for the same launcher is a bad idea. It would make swaping from long range to short range without changing set up possible. (Or maybe that wouldn't be so bad. Chimera pilots would probably like this.) Could we at least get a short range version of the Citadel Torpedo Laucher that uses the same skill?

Well i have something here i think;
The hole thing with missile launching caps is nerfed to hell now as the phoenix basicly suck! so why don't try to make some improvements...
Keep the Citadel Torps but remake them for short range, say give them a 10-15 sec base flight time and keep the speed that would give them something like 30 to 50 km range with good skills and would make them a good close range weapon and give them abit more dmg to make them usfull.
As for Long range missiles ad something like a ICBM (inter continenta balistic missile) that is, basicly a massive heavy missile, give it around the speed of a cruise missile and about the same max flight time too. It still might have some dmg lag but it would be like 30 seconds instead of 2 minutes, and i think that might help the phoenix out somewhat

or you could post this in the 7 pages about citadel torps in a post a few threads up.
Capital Cruise missiles would be interesting to see. Especially if they gave the torps a giant speed boost, increase dmg, and reduce flight time. Then you can take the reduced dmg, increased flight time with citadel cruises. But yeah. CCP will notice more in the 7+page thread about citadel torps than starting your own thread... imo

How about a short range frigate launcher? Depending on the type of frigate you use as ammo, you will get different damage etc... Obviously, you wouldn't be able to launch them very far, thus it would be ideal for this idea... Ammo cost might be a bit high, especially with tech 2... ç¦ |

it makes sense, its like amarr frigs not having a probing t1 frig, but they fixed that... i think in time these might actually come out.
