Eve loads splash screen, can select a character, then starts loading station environment until 99% is done... then nothing. When i press escape, i get the settings-window. Press escape again..black screen. Strange thing is,.. i run a second account on same computer: runs fine.. even can see the first account is online, but first account is just a black window. Was running fine yesterday evening with 3 accounts on same computer...
Any suggestions?

Ok,.. i deleted all cache files, uninstalled eve, fresh download of classic client, installed.
I run the client,.. same thing.. i can select a char, starts loading character, then loads station, until "setup station: tash murkon prime II - moon - 1 Kaalakiota corporation factory" load-bar fills up... but the station is not to be seen. Load bar stays visible at 99% - 100% loaded. Station sounds can be heard. i appear online to other players.
press esc once... the load-bar disappears. press esc again: get the settings window. press esc again: black screen. Second client starts up just fine...
I stop the first session and restart a new one, while the second session stays running: same thing.. it must be linked to the account as other account is running fine, wether i start it up first or second....

ok,. now i went to same station with a different character and opened a trade window,.. works fine,.. but can't see anything on this account,.... black screen,... maybe i need an "unstuck" procedure from ccp?

I tried on my laptop and there it works fine,.. must be pc related i guess... hmm

I am having exactly the same problem. So I load up CCP Log Server & it says alot of things I don't really understand, but the gist of it seems to be that:
AsyncSocket::Recv. The input queue is empty will wait for next message, mReadCont = 594
Also note that I can run the same character on a different account on the same PC. I emptyed my cache, the next step is reinstall, but I'd like a reply before it goes that far

this worked for my, you might try it. now I am running vista, but I went to
c:\users\<user>\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings\
I deleted everything except prefs.ini, & pc.dat

Well,.. the problem is back on my laptop now as well,.. seems to happen when i want to start a second client on a computer. Once it's there, it doesn't go away, even when i start up just one single client with this one character. Different account now. This is getting annoying,.. i don't want to have to but a pc for every client i run :[

This started after the last update. When i CCP going to be able to release fixes without borking something else!!!!!?????

Hi.
What happens if you try to access another character on the same account where you are experiencing issues?
There are a few things you can try out to resolve this problem:
1. Clear your cache and settings folder, instructions here: http://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=371
2. If you are running multiple clients on the same computer it is recommended to set the Cache size to "low" on both clients. To do this:
- Start one client
- Press ESC
- Go to the "Display & Graphics" tab
- Locate the Cache Size option
- Set it to Low
- Close the window
- Start a second client
3. If you find yourself still being stuck, after trying the above, please file a Stuck petition.
- Log in
- Press ESC
- Click "Your petitions" button
- Select the Character
- Select Stuck category
- Fill out the rest of the form

It would be great to be able to do this, but seeing as how it goes straight back to a black screen when I hit "Your Petitions", not very viable. So i'm stuck, without being able to put in a "stuck" petition. Wonderful

I am having the same issue as well. I reset the cache, but the issue is only for one of my characters. I can access the other characters on the account.

The key here is to also delete the settings folder, not just the cache.

This clearly indicates that something has corrupted your settings folder. Follow the above instructions in the knowledge base article I posted and delete the settings folder. If you need assistance, please file a petition.

I have the same thing happening. I can log into two of the characters on my account but not onto my main character. I cleared cache and deleted settings with no effect. I ran into this problem when I tried to jump into a sector and got a traffic warning that I would need to wait before going into the sector. 5 Minutes later I still could not jump and if I tried to jump to a station I could not go there either. I finally logged out and now I get the loading bar and black screen forever.
