Edited by: Lexfire Tryone on 17/09/2008 14:32:11 Been running L 3 missions with a Myrmidon for the past several months and I want to build a skill path to get into a Dominix for L4. I pulled together the mission related skills I have so far. Which skills would your recommend boosting and which need to be added to get into a Dominix for L4. I have not studied battleship at this point but can. Skills I marked in bold are the ones I was going to move up the skill chain.
Currently building last attribute skill to level 4 to get all 5 to +8.
Level II
Caldari Drone Specialization (rank 5) Heavy Drone Operation (rank 5) Rapid Firing (rank 2) Sharpshooter (rank 2) Shield Upgrades (rank 2) Warp Drive Operation (rank 1)
Level III
Acceleration Control (rank 4) Drone Navigation (rank 1) Electronics Upgrades (rank 2) Energy Emission Systems (rank 2) Evasive Maneuvering (rank 2) High Speed Maneuvering (rank 5) Leadership (rank 1) Long Range Targeting (rank 2) Motion Prediction (rank 2) Shield Management (rank 3) Shield Operation (rank 1) Targeting (rank 1)
Level IV
Afterburner (rank 1) Battlecruisers (rank 6) Combat Drone Operation (rank 2) Drone Durability (rank 5) Drone Sharpshooting (rank 1) Energy Grid Upgrades (rank 2) Gallente Drone Specialization (rank 5) Gunnery (rank 1) Mechanic (rank 1) Navigation (rank 1)
Level V Drone Interfacing (rank 5) Drones (rank 1) Electronics (rank 1) Energy Management (rank 3) Energy Systems Operation (rank 1) Engineering (rank 1) Hull Upgrades (rank 2) Repair Systems (rank 1) Scout Drone Operation (rank 1)

I am highly confused. Do you have to warp out alot in LVL 3 missions? Looking over the skills you posted you don't seem to have much of a tank. You'll die very very quickly in LVL 4 missions without some serious improvements in your defenses.

Edited by: Lexfire Tryone on 17/09/2008 21:10:38 Sorry thought I was clear in the original post.
These are some of my current skills and the level they are trained. My original question is which skills should I boost and/or add to my skill list in order to be able to handle L4 missions in a Dominix.
BTW, I do not have to warp out of L3 mission in the Myrmidon. The armor repair, armor resistance and damage from drones gets the job done.

I use a Dominix for level 4 missions. You'll need to rig it out with a combination of cap recharge rigs and armor repper amount/duration rigs. This will depend on what your comfortable with. Minimum would be Jury Rigging III, Energy Grid Rigging I, and Armor Rigging I. You may wish to take Armor Rigging higher to cut the speed penalty of armor rigs. I use sentry drones and 425mm Railguns, so I may engage at around 85KM. Wth my skills the rails are effective to about 20KM before I lose tracking. I switch out drones as the spawn gets closer. So Sentry Drone Interfacing IV is a must; as is Large Hybrid IV and Advanced Weapon Upgrades IV, to fit the 425mm railguns. Also, Electronic Warfare Drone Interfacing will extend your drone control range, train it up to IV.

Edited by: Yarriore on 18/09/2008 02:40:14 Forget drone durability, if your drones are being shot you are doing something wrong.
Your cap skills are excellent, good job.
Do Mechanic 5 next for LAR IIs.
After that it is time to start working hard on drone DPS. T2 heavies and/or sentries add a significantly larger damage contribution than interfacing 5.
Long after that, move on to large guns.
And do the skills that are fast to train and annoying to be without, like targeting stuff, in between.
Get some armor comps in there too, you will want 1-2 eanm for angels.

Thanks all - good information and ideas for mapping out skills in evemon.
Yarriore - Question or two
I though I read on the forums that drone durability was becoming more important as a skill due to a recent change during an update. In most cases my drones do not take any damaage so I am probably good where I am with that skill.
I agree with the drone recommendation on heavies and sentry drones - however, doesn't Drone Interfacing V double the damage on heavies and sentrys? As least thats how I thought it worked.

Drone Navigation
get this to lvl 4
the faster your drones are to the target the sooner they can shoot at it, also the improved speed will mean more hits missed on them for the situations when a new wave enters and target your drones or the very odd mobs that do change aggro.. ------- Always a deeply religious people, religion remains of great importance to every Amarrian, a fervour which at various times has been responsible both for great good and great evil. |

It is slightly more important now. There are also a lot more missions that spawn new waves, that then agro your drones. The best way to deal with this is knowing the mission, controlling your drones, and using sentries to spawn the next wave. Even with all the missions that spawn stuff, your drones should not be taking damage. You have better things to work on than taking this skill past 3.

DI is not multiplicative so it results in a net DPS improvement of 12% or so for taking it from 4 to 5. T2 heavies give you a +20% boost from their base, which is multiplicative, and results in a much higher net DPS. Plus you get some speed out of them as well. As well as the +5% from heavy drone op.
IE, Ogre IIs: With DI: 428 DPS With DI5: 475 DPS
Net DPS increase: about +12%
Now, the DPS difference between Heavy Drones 4 and 5: Ogre Is w/heavy 4: 346 Ogre IIs w/heavy 5: 475
Net DPS increase: about +37%
